Richard L. Alvidrez

Richard L. Alvidrez is a Director in the Albuquerque office, licensed to practice law in New Mexico since 1983. He received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University in 1983 and his B.A. from Texas A&M - Commerce in 1980. He has over twenty years of experience in environmental law, including enforcement proceedings, regulatory compliance, and toxic tort litigation. He also handles commercial, personal injury, and employment litigation. He is active in professional and community organizations, including the American Bar Association and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.

Samuel Kane

Samuel Kane is known for his precision in the courtroom and his relentless dedication to clients. After earning his Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Miami School of Law-graduating magna cum laude and receiving the prestigious Order of the Coif distinction-he clerked for District Judge Robert C. Brack in the federal court in Las Cruces, New Mexico. That experience, seeing cases from a judge’s perspective, shaped the strategic approach he brings to every case. That, plus his years contracting with the Las Cruces public defender’s office handling trials every month, honed his ability to think quickly and advocate effectively in high-pressure situations. In 2004, Samuel founded the Law Offices of Samuel Kane. Since then he has tried more than 1,000 bench and jury cases, and found his passion helping those with serious personal injury matters. Sam is also a licensed commercial pilot, instrument rated and dual-engine rated-a pursuit that mirrors the discipline, focus, and attention to detail he brings to his legal practice. It also makes him very familiar with aviation accidents and the details they involve. When he’s not in the courtroom or in the air, Samuel enjoys staying active and giving back to the Las Cruces community. Dathan Weems

Born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico, Dathan is a fourth-generation attorney. Practicing since 2002, Dathan specializes in trial practice and represents injured people and their families in all of the ways a person can get injured, including, trucking accidents, aviation accidents, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. Especially important to Dathan is the work he and Weems Hazen Law do for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence by suing assailants and contributing parties regardless of whether there is a likely recovery. Dathan’s commitment to the practice of law includes teaching mediation, negotiation, and client counseling at the University School of Law. Lawyers serve their clients best when they offer them every path to resolve their conflict and Dathan is committed to bring a full array of skills to Weems Hazen Law clients. Dathan holds dozens of certifications, memberships, and recognitions for trial practice and dispute resolution from entities including the the American Association for Justice, National Trial Lawyers, New Mexico Trial Lawyers, Harvard Law School, National Institute of Trial Advocacy, National Crime Victims Bar Association, and the University of New Mexico School of Law. In addition, Dathan is a proud alumnus of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Since his college years, Dathan has been committed to the health and well-being of the people of Albuquerque. In 2013, he founded Albuquerque Involved, a nonprofit organization that connects volunteers and philanthropists to local nonprofits via service work and grants. He also serves on the board of Paws and Stripes, an organization dedicated to assisting services members living with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and who are survivors of military sexual trauma. Dathan also serves on the Mayor of Albuquerque’s Commission for Volunteerism and the NM State Bar ADR Commission. Above all, Dathan’s favorite activity involves time with his family. He enjoys supporting his children in their pursuits or finding quiet time to watch movies and play board games with them at home . . . unless New Mexico United has a home game because he rarely misses a moment to cheer “Somos Unidos!”

Bridget Hazen

Bridget wasn’t born in the Land of Enchantment, but she is proud to call New Mexico home. She is grateful for all of that our state provides to her, including the opportunity to serve as an empathetic champion of those who’ve been wronged. Bridget easily relates to her clients and is invigorated by advocating for their best interests. Bridget graduated from the University of Washington as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, with a BA in History. After moving to New Mexico in 2004, she oversaw the personnel staff of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirkland Air Force Base where she also a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator. After separating from the Air Force, Bridget founded Nest Realty, which became one of Albuquerque’s most reputable and highest-performing real estate brokerages for ten years. Despite the success she enjoyed in Real Estate, Bridget had dreams of studying the law. Bridget enrolled at University of New Mexico School of Law and started clerking for law firms and the Bernalillo County District Attorney. After graduating with honors, Bridget knew she wanted to represent injured people and their families, particularly in complex medical malpractice and catastrophic injury lawsuits. A quick and ambitious learner, Bridget is known and respected for her work with clients living with life-altering brain injuries among other serious injuries. Bridget is a fixture in the Albuquerque business community, having been involved with Albuquerque Economic Development and several leadership positions with the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors. During her time of the Board of Directors for The Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors, Bridget assisted in the establishment of the Realtor Endowment Fund which continues to contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to local nonprofits. Currently, Bridget serves on the board of the New Mexico Women’s Bar Association and coaches students in negotiation and client counseling at the UNM School of Law. She also holds memberships in the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, National Trial Lawyers, American Association for Justice, Albuquerque Bar Association, the US Districts Bars of New Mexico and Colorado, and several sections and groups in the different organizations. She is a proud member of Albuquerque Involved and gives countless hours to volunteering inside and outside of the legal field. When she is away from the office, Bridget finds balance by spending time running in the mountains and boxing. Bridget is committed to healthy living and has a daily yoga practice.

Ranne B. Miller

Ranne B. Miller, the founder of the firm in 1978, has retired and is no longer a member of the New Mexico Bar, but consults exclusively with the firm's attorneys. He received his J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1967 and his B.B.A. from the University of Washington in 1963. He was recognized in every edition of 'Best Lawyers in America' and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Past President of the New Mexico Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. His extensive trial experience includes over 100 civil jury trials in personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, and professional liability.

Thomas R. Mack

Thomas R. Mack is the President and Managing Director of the firm. He was admitted to the State and Federal Bars of New Mexico in 1989, after receiving his J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1989 and his B.A. from Washington & Lee University in 1986. He practices in medical malpractice defense, general civil litigation, and health law matters. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and recognized as a Super Lawyer and Best Lawyer in America.

Timothy R. Briggs

Timothy R. Briggs is a Director in the Albuquerque office. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from New Mexico Highlands University in 1980 and his J.D. cum laude from Texas Tech University in 1984. He is recognized by Southwest Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America in the field of Workers’ Compensation. He represents and defends employers and companies in New Mexico, including oil and gas entities and mining companies, in personal injury claims, employer's liability, general insurance defense, and liquor liability. He is a board member of the New Mexico Businessmen’s Team Roping Association.
