Martin D. Gould
Martin D. Gould is a trial attorney representing individuals and classes of victims in wrongful death, toxic exposure, medical malpractice, auto and trucking accidents, construction and other workplace accidents, product defect, and sexual abuse cases across the country. Martin has played a key role in securing numerous record-breaking multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients who have been harmed as a result of wrongful conduct. In 2019, Martin and his team secured a $21.337 million verdict at trial on behalf of the family of a mother of five young children who was killed in a car accident. Later that same year, Martin played a key role in securing a $12.35 million settlement at the beginning of trial on behalf of the family of a young mother of three children in a medical malpractice case; the settlement was the largest recorded in Illinois for a misdiagnosis of breast cancer case. In addition to obtaining significant recoveries for his clients, Martin takes on many cases where he believes he can change policies or the law to protect future generations. In that regard, Martin has represented and currently represents dozens of survivors of rape and childhood sexual abuse in many of the highest profile abuse cases in the country. Some of those cases include claims against the Boy Scouts of America, the Boys & Girls Club, University of Michigan (abuse involving Dr. Robert Anderson), professional sports teams, the Estate of Jeffrey Epstein, private and public schools, elite private boarding schools, orphanages, foster care programs, hospitals, mental health facilities, Fortune 500 companies, and countless religious institutions and related entities (ranging from the Catholic Church, religious orders, and the YMCA, to Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormon Church, and the Royal Rangers Youth Organization). He has helped shed light on systemic abuse and cover-ups while securing millions of dollars in settlements on behalf of survivors, including a recent $2.1 million settlement on behalf of 7-year-old abused by a Church camp counselor. Understanding the lasting impact child abuse can have on someone, Martin has also taken on school bullying cases as well, securing a $250,000 verdict in a school bullying case in Woodford County, Illinois, the largest bullying verdict ever reported in Illinois. In helping manage a mass tort litigation practice, Martin currently represents hundreds of individuals whose homes were destroyed when after years of neglect, the Edenville and Sanford dams near Midland, Michigan failed, devastating the surrounding community. He also represents hundreds of individuals injured by consumption of and/or exposure to harmful products, including exposure to ethylene oxide emissions; RoundUp herbicide exposure; Johnson & Johnson talc baby powder; and individuals who took prescription and over-the-counter Zantac/ranitidine medication, which was recalled by the FDA due to defects in its design potentially leading to cancer. Martin regularly appears in the media to discuss cases, including appearances on Fox 32 and ABC 7 to discuss the toxic exposure involving Sterigenics, interviews with the Associated Press, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin to discuss clergy abuse lawsuits and settlements, and appearances on the Legal Broadcasting Network to discuss a federal class action lawsuit against a large municipality. Currently, Martin holds leadership positions within numerous legal organizations, including serving on the Advisory Board of the National Crime Victims Bar Association (NCVBA), with membership on NCVBA’s Clergy Abuse Committee and the Child Abuse Section. He is also on the Junior Board of Child USA, the leading national nonprofit fighting for the civil rights of children a fair legal system that allows survivors of child abuse to seek justice in the courts. He also holds leadership positions with the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and Chicago Bar Association (CBA), serving as the CBA’s Vice Chair of the YLS and former Chair of the Torts Litigation Committee. Martin graduated toward the top of his class from Chicago-Kent College of Law, cum laude, and was a published member of the Chicago-Kent Law Review. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Northwestern University, where he was also a four-year member of the Northwestern Varsity Wrestling Team. The team placed 4th in the NCAAs Martin’s sophomore year in 2007.

Nathan A. Hanning
Prior to founding H&S, Nathan Hanning worked at one of the largest Southern California defense firms, where he litigated a variety of insurance defense matters and construction defect cases. Thereafter, Mr. Hanning worked at a prestigious medical malpractice defense firm where he defended healthcare providers in all types of medical malpractice actions. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Hanning graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with degrees in political science and history before earning his juris doctor from Southwestern Law School. During law school, Mr. Hanning served as Managing Editor of the Southwestern Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Honors Program, where he competed as an oralist in the Spong tournament, arguing before Justices Joseph P. Albright of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and Cornelia G. Kennedy of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Mr. Hanning was named a Wildman Scholar, a Hagman Scholar, and recipient of the Deans Merit Award. He also received two CALI awards for his achievements in Legal Writing and Analysis and Land Use and Planning. Mr. Hanning has also authored several articles, including Trying Asset/Mortgage Backed Securities Cases: A Practical Guide, Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (2007), and Waking From the American Dream: Expanding Fiduciary Duties to Secondary Lenders Following the Subprime Mortgage Meltdown, Southwestern Law Review (2008).

Aram Bagrazyan
Aram Bagrazyan joined the firm in 2023. Michael V. Sacchetto
Before founding H&S, Michael Sacchetto worked for several years at one of the premier medical malpractice defense firms in the country. Mr. Sacchetto earned an excellent reputation as a remarkable litigator while defending a variety of healthcare professionals in all types of medical malpractice actions. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Sacchetto earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of La Verne, graduating summa cum laude. Thereafter, Mr. Sacchetto earned his juris doctor from Southwestern Law School, in Los Angeles, California, graduating magna cum laude. While attending Southwestern, Mr. Sacchetto was a member of the Southwestern Moot Court Team and reached the semi-final round at the Cardozo/BMI Moot Court Competition in New York. Mr. Sacchetto also served as a staff member and was later elected to the board of Southwestern Law Review as a Notes and Comments Editor. Liana Ohanian
Liana Ohanian is an Associate Attorney with Dordulian Law Group. Prior to joining DLG, Liana developed a wealth of experience, handling complex legal matters including commercial trucking accidents, rideshare accidents, and premises liability. Upon passing the California Bar Exam and being admitted to the State Bar, Liana was recognized as one of California’s youngest practicing attorneys at the age of 22. Since then, Liana has dedicated her career to advocating for Plaintiffs, ensuring that justice is served and her clients’ interests are protected. While in law school, Liana demonstrated academic excellence and leadership. She was an active member of the American Inns of Court and Dean’s Leadership Academy as well as being honored as a Dean’s Merit Scholar. She was a recipient of the Top Grade Award in Copyright Law as well as Wills & Trusts. Additionally, she was awarded the prestigious Wildman/Schumacher Scholarship, which recognized her merit as an incoming law student. During this time, Liana was a legal extern at a non-profit organization as well as the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office working under the Target Crimes division, focusing on Arson and Explosives. Alex Valenzuela
Alex Valenzuela is an experienced California personal injury attorney whose varied experience makes him uniquely qualified to represent injured victims and victims of sexual abuse. Alex graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and obtained a Juris Doctorate from the University of California at Los Angeles-UCLA. He began his career serving the community as deputy district attorney prosecuting serious and violent felons, including sexual assault cases. Upon entering private practice, Alex gained many years of valuable experience defending businesses and insurance companies in a wide array of matters including personal injury cases, employment cases and business litigation matters. He then found his calling fighting for the best interests of individuals who have been injured by the negligence of others or intentional abuse. Brian Van Allen
Brian Van Allen came to the firm with a diverse background. In addition to working in retail management and English language instruction, Brian served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for the Child Custody Division of the Juvenile Court of Cook County in inner-city Chicago. He graduated with his B.A. from University of California, Riverside and earned his J.D. at DePaul University College of Law. While pursuing his legal education, Brian worked as a law clerk for multiple civil litigation firms and accrued broad-based experience in personal injury, family law, commercial litigation, and appellate practice. At these firms, he authored numerous writings filed in the circuit courts of Cook County and Illinois Appellate Courts. Brian joined the firm as an associate in 2014. Brian prides himself as an advocate for the elderly and focuses his practice on obtaining justice for victims of physical abuse and neglect in skilled nursing, assisted living and similar elder support environments. He has obtained settlements for victims and their families in the several millions and has tried and arbitrated complex medical malpractice cases to decision. Brian was named a partner at Belgum, Fry & Van Allen in 2017.
