Jon R. Schumacher

Jon R. Schumacher earned his B.S. from Colorado State University in 1990 and his J.D. from the University of North Dakota in 1994, subsequently being admitted to the Colorado Bar. He began his legal career in Denver, establishing his own practice in 1997 before moving to the Gunnison Valley in 2003. His practice areas include civil litigation, personal injury, real estate/HOA representation, construction defect litigation, and criminal defense, with extensive experience in jury trials. He is affiliated with the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, Colorado Bar Association, and the 7th Judicial District Bar Association. Jon is also actively involved in nonprofit work, having served as President for Gunnison Country Mentors and the Gunnison Council for the Arts, and holds board positions with Gunnison Bank and Trust and Dos Rios Golf Club.

Thomas M. Riser

Thomas M. Riser is an attorney dedicated to serving the legal needs of Gunnison Valley residents. Michael P. O’Loughlin holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Vermont and a J.D. from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, obtained in 2006. His legal practice focuses on real estate, HOA law, civil litigation, estate planning and administration, business entity representation, construction and development, and local government law. He serves as the County Attorney for Hinsdale County, Colorado, since 2011, and represents numerous homeowners’ associations and business entities across the Gunnison Valley.

Frannie Burns

Frannie Burns, a Legal Assistant and Office Manager at Schumacher & O’Loughlin, earned a degree in History from Western Washington University in 2016. She joined the firm in the summer of 2025. Her interests include snowboarding, fly fishing, tennis, and chess.
