Sean P. Paris

Sean Paris is known for providing outstanding service to his clients, and for his proven ability to solve even the most complex problems. Indeed, he hails from Louisville where he graduated from Ballard High School. He earned a degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisville in 1993 and he attended the Salmon P. Chase College of Law in northern Kentucky where he earned his law degree in 1996. Mr. Paris now calls La Grange his hometown. Mr. Paris is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Colorado and he brings well over 26 years of trial experience to any litigation matter. Having practiced since 1996, and with a long track record of success across the firm, he has successfully handled many difficult cases across the legal spectrum and has taken scores of cases to trial.

Jonathan Wells

Jonathan "Joe" Wells is a founding partner with James & Wells PSC. His primary practice areas are family law, criminal law, and personal injury. He also has handled numerous appellate issues with published and unpublished opinions in the areas of criminal law and family law. Mr. Wells has taught business law, criminal law, and criminal procedure at Kentucky Technical Community Colleges. He has also taught other attorneys their continuing legal education in the areas of criminal law and family law. He practices in Courts all throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, consistently in Oldham, Henry, Trimble, and Carroll counties. Prior to joining James & Wells PSC, Mr. Wells worked a staff Attorney in Franklin Circuit court and a Law Clerk at Todd & Walter. He has practiced aggressive and practical family law, personal injury and criminal law since entering private practice in 2001. He also stays diversified by practicing a wide variety of civil matters.

James L. ("Jim") Theiss

Jim comes from generations of both parents who settled in Oldham County since the mid-1800s. His love for community and profound sense of integrity began with his commitment to sports and academics, achieving a full scholarship upon his graduation from Oldham County High School in 1969 to the University of Louisville football program under Coach Lee Corso. Upon graduation with a B.A. in political science in 1973, Jim attended law school at the University of Louisville where he graduated in 1976 and was admitted to the Kentucky Bar later that same year. He began practicing criminal and family law in Oldham County with the law firm Manby, Williamson, and Smith at 101 West Main Street in LaGrange, Kentucky and was a partner in that firm and its successor entities for 37 years. In 2014, he and his son, J.D. Theiss, formed Theiss Law Offices, PLLC. Jim has been practicing law for 48 years.

Kirsten Z. Myers

Ms. Myers joined Pearson & Paris, P.C. on January 8, 2018. She is a skilled civil attorney and handles a wide range of civil matters. In the landlord-tenant arena, Ms. Myers has successfully handled a broad range of eviction cases, ensuring landlords protect their rights while complying with evolving local and state laws. Ms. Myers is known for efficiently resolving disputes to minimize disruption and financial exposure for property owners and managers. Ms. Myers has guided clients from pre-litigation strategy through trial in cases involving breach of contract, personal injury claims, insurance disputes, real estate disputes, and construction claims. She prides herself on her ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, superior work ethic, and analytical reasoning skills. These skills and Ms. Myers’s attention to detail directly translate to her practice areas, enabling Ms. Myers to provide competent and strategic legal representation. Ms. Myers received her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University Law School. During her law school tenure, Ms. Myers served as Editor-in-Chief of the Valparaiso University Law Review and was one of the founding members and treasurer of the Asian American Pacific Islander Law Student Association. Ms. Myers also participated in the Juvenile and Family Law clinic where she served as Guardian Ad Litem in family-related matters to help resolve disputes of parenting time and decision-making responsibility. Ms. Myers also appeared in the Porter County Juvenile Court as a public defender for individuals facing contempt charges for failure to pay child support. Ms. Myers was a recipient of the Hoeppner, Wagner & Evans Scholarship for outstanding commitment to the law school and was awarded the Scribes Award for demonstrating the highest levels of legal professionalism and excellence in legal writing. In May 2017, Ms. Myers was inducted into the National Order of Scribes. Since 2022 Ms. Myers has been an annual recipient of the Super Lawyers Rising Star distinction.

Ben Wyman is a trial lawyer with the skills, expertise, and demeanor to win your case. Born in Augusta, GA, he has spent most of his life in North Central Kentucky. His legal training began before law school when he spent time serving as a pastoral counselor, chaplain, therapist, pastor, and social worker. During his time in law school, Mr. Wyman clerked for the Jefferson County Attorney's Office, and later became an Assistant County Attorney, where he prosecuted a wide variety of criminal cases. While serving as a prosecutor, he maintained a family law and personal injury practice, where he handled an assortment of divorce, post-divorce and personal injury matters. Mr. Wyman is aggressive, relentless and zealous, but maintains respect, courtesy and civility. His primary office is located in Carrollton, KY, but he travels throughout the state to represent clients.

Jazmyn S. Weber

Jazmyn S. Weber joined Pearson & Paris, P.S.C. as an associate attorney in September of 2023. Ms. Weber received her Juris Doctorate from Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. During her law school career, Ms. Weber was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, Arbitration Moot Court, the Student Bar Association where she served as Social Chair, and she worked as a legal research assistant for various professors. Ms. Weber comes to us from Stillman Valley, Illinois. However, she has called Louisville home since 2015 when she began her undergraduate career at the University of Louisville. Ms. Weber is an avid Cards fan and enjoys spending time outside of work attending games. In addition to attending Cards games, she loves spending time at Churchill Downs, playing sand volleyball, and trying out new restaurants and breweries throughout the city of Louisville. Outside the office, you will almost always find her with her dog, Brew! Ms. Weber is licensed to practice law in the State of Kentucky. James D. ("J.D.") Theiss

Born and raised in Oldham County, Kentucky, JD Theiss has been practicing law in LaGrange, Kentucky since he passed the Kentucky Bar Exam in 2012. In 2014, JD and his father, Jim Theiss, formed THEISS LAW OFFICES, PLLC. JD’s practice has primarily focused on family law, appellate work, estate planning and probate, and criminal defense. JD has also served as general counsel for the La Grange Fire Protection District since 2013. When he’s not practicing law, JD enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and cooking.
