Mrs. Weiss-Ortiz is a Miami, Florida native and began her pursuit of the law at a young age at the Law Office of Jack J. Weiss (1928-1995) in Miami, Florida, where she worked many years prior to moving to Chicago. She was employed throughout law school and thereafter in private practice, municipal entities and pro bono agencies. Her career flourished litigating cases in the courtrooms of Chicago. Today, she represents clients in a diverse range of business and personal disputes in throughout the States of Illinois and Florida. She is actively involved in a variety of bar associations, handles cases pro bono from referring agencies, and regularly volunteers her legal services, while managing her practice.

Citlali Mascorro is an associate at Weiss Ortiz, where she concentrates her practice on civil litigation, family law, and immigration. She brings a strong foundation in both advocacy and legal support, having previously served as a paralegal at a Chicago law firm specializing in commercial litigation, real estate, finance, and corporate law. Ms. Mascorro earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science from Loyola University of New Orleans in 2016 and her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in 2022. During law school, she worked with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) in El Paso, Texas, where she supported legal efforts on behalf of unaccompanied children in custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Fluent in English and Spanish, Ms. Mascorro is committed to serving clients from diverse backgrounds with compassion and diligence.

Erick Lopez

Erick Lopez is an attorney who practices in the areas of civil litigation, intellectual property law, and patents. Mr. Lopez has represented clients in various civil matters throughout the state of Illinois and is focused on exceeding his client’s expectations. Prior to joining Weiss Ortiz, P.C., Mr. Lopez consulted with start-up companies on various intellectual property matters. This practice included drafting patent applications, interviewing inventors, and providing best-practice strategies at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Lopez has served as an extern and clerk for various organizations including: The United States Patent and Trademark Office, The Illinois Attorney General, and the IP Patent Clinic at the John Marshall Law School. Prior to receiving his J.D. and LL.M. in intellectual property law from The John Marshall Law School in 2018, Mr. Lopez earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University in 2013. Mr. Lopez is registered to practice as a patent practitioner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is licensed to practice law in Illinois.

Ayman Noureldin is a law clerk at Weiss-Ortiz Law, currently supporting legal research and case preparation. Ayman completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois Chicago, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, cum laude. He is currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, with a focus on litigation. He brings skills in legal writing, research, and case analysis, along with a strong commitment to professionalism and client service. Outside of work, Ayman enjoys volunteering, aviation, and soccer.

In the spring of 2024, Anthony graduated from Dominican University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor Criminology. During his time at Dominican University, Anthony was a four-year member of the Varsity baseball team, receiving All-Conference Honors in his senior season. Currently, he is working on completing his ABA Paralegal Certification at Elgin Community College. Following the competition of this program, he aspires to continue his academic journey at an ABA-approved law school in the fall of 2026. Meanwhile, Anthony has been part of the Weiss Ortiz, P.C. legal team since January of 2025.
