Charles J. Urban
Mr. Urban concentrates his practice primarily in the area of Family Law and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. Urban has been recognized by his peers as an Illinois Leading Lawyer in the area of Family Law each year since 2012 and has been selected for inclusion in Illinois Super Lawyers each year since 2012. Mr. Urban has been involved in all facets of Family Law practice since 1990, including divorce, contested custody matters, original and post decree support and maintenance proceedings, division of large and complex marital estates including medical professionals, legal professionals, executives, farm divorces, business owners and self-employed individuals, division of retirement income plans and stock option plans, domestic violence matters, paternity, custody modification matters, contested grounds matters, pre and post nuptial agreements, modification of divorce judgments, civil unions, dissolution of civil unions, and appeals. In addition to his Family Law Practice, Mr. Urban has over thirty years of experience in the representation of employers in employment law related matters including discrimination claims, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour claims, assisting employers in development of procedures and employment documents such as employee handbooks and related materials, and advising employer’s human resource personnel regarding employment matters on a regular basis as a means to prevent claims. Mr. Urban also is experienced and available to assist clients with a variety of litigation related matters including municipal law, real estate, personal injury, contract disputes, probate/estate litigation, insurance and administrative proceedings.

Kenneth M. Snodgrass Jr.
Mr. Snodgrass has represented the City of Peoria in regards to their workers’ compensation matters as well as collective bargaining agreement matters. Mr. Snodgrass also has done insurance defense work on behalf of Pekin Insurance for many years. Mr. Snodgrass has represented municipalities in regards to their municipal matters, labor matters, pension matters, and termination matters before the Police and Fire Commission Board. Mr. Snodgrass has been involved in litigation concerning grain contract disputes on behalf of grain elevators throughout the state of Illinois. He also has extensive experience in regards to estate litigation involving issues of undue influence and testamentary capacity. Mr. Snodgrass has also represented the Illinois Insurance Guarantee Fund in common law defense cases. In addition to the above, Mr. Snodgrass has been involved in mediation and arbitration disputes involving a wide variety of legal issues including but not limited to estate litigation, insurance disputes, personal injury claims, grain contract disputes and insurance coverage issues. Mr. Snodgrass has been chosen as a leading lawyer in the state of Illinois since 2013 based upon a survey of his peers. He has served as a lecturer for seminars held by the Peoria County Bar Association, the National Business Insitute, the Counil on Education in Management and the Grain & Feed Association. He has spoken on topics regarding workers’ compensation matters, common law matters and risk management issues. In 2018, Ken was recognized for his 16 years of continuous service to Youth Farm and The Children’s Home Association of Illinois, one of Central Illinois’ premier charitable organizations. Ken’s sustained service over the last 16 years to Youth Farm and Children’s Home and his commitment to future service earned his selection as the Peoria County Bar Association’s 2018 Distinguished Community Service Award Recipient. Ken, by his community service, has helped hundreds of children in Central Illinois and has brought great credit upon himself, our legal profession and the Peoria County Bar Association.

Michael R. Hasselberg
Mr. Hasselberg represents highly compensated and high net worth individuals and spouses of highly compensated and high net worth individuals, including business owners, executives, sports and media figures, physicians, attorneys, accountants, farmers and large land owners in matrimonial matters involving the division of multi-million dollar marital estates throughout the State of Illinois. MICHAEL R. HASSELBERG attended the University of Illinois and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1968 and his Master’s degree in 1972. He graduated from John Marshall Law School in 1975. Mike is a member of the Peoria County and Illinois State Bar Associations, Abraham Lincoln Inn of Court and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mike was President of the Abraham Lincoln Inn of Court from 1997 to 1998. He was admitted to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 1990. Mike has been selected by his peers as a “Leading Lawyer” in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 in Illinois in the area of family law as noted by the Leading Lawyers Network. Mike was in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971. He was an Airborne and Ranger Qualified Infantry Officer and served with the 101st Airborne Division in the Republic of Vietnam from 1970 to 1971.

James R. Grebe
James R. Grebe is one of the preeminent agricultural law attorneys in the State of Illinois. He serves as General Counsel to the Grain & Feed Association of Illinois and has represented a multitude of grain elevators, agri-business entities and farmers for over 35 years. Jim is also a prominent estate planning lawyer who has extensive experience in estate and trust administration, working with individuals as well as corporate executors and trustees. In addition, Jim handles complex transactions involving corporations, partnerships, LLCs and other business entities. He also has extensive experience in personal and fiduciary income tax matters, as well as preparation of Federal and Illinois Estate Tax Returns. Jim is a frequent speaker on estate planning, tax matters and agricultural law topics, and is active in professional and charitable organizations. He has served on the Board of Regents of Concordia University of Chicago for 9 years and also served as an officer and member of Concordia’s executive committee. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Agricultural Law Section Council, where he has twice served as Chairman of the ISBA Agricultural Law Section Council.

Kevin D. Day
Kevin D. Day was born and raised in the Peoria area. He attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where he played football while earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After receiving his degree from Augustana in 2010, Mr. Day attended the Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he served two terms as Vice President of the American Constitution Society. He received his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University in May of 2013, and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in October of 2013. Mr. Day began his legal career with our firm in December of 2013. His practice areas include workers’ compensation, family law, municipal law, commercial litigation, personal injury, and estate planning. He has successfully represented employees and employers in workers’ compensation litigation at the Commission, circuit court, and appellate levels. Mr. Day has also assisted clients with complex employment litigation before the Third District Appellate Court and Illinois Supreme Court. He currently represents individual, municipal, and corporate clients throughout Central Illinois and maintains a growing family law practice. Each year since 2017, Kevin has been identified by his peers to be among the top two percent of Illinois lawyers age forty and under in the areas of workers’ compensation defense and municipal law. As a Peoria area native, Mr. Day is dedicated to the success of the local community. He recently completed a three year term as President of the Board of Directors for the Sun Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to strengthen and advance the arts and environmental sciences in rural and urban communities. He has continued his involvement with the Sun Foundation as a Board member and Committee Chair. Mr. Day serves on the Board of Directors for the Neighborhood House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe haven with comprehensive services that meet the social, emotional and material needs of individuals and families from infancy to the elderly. He is also a member of the Peoria County Bar Association, where he currently serves as Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Young Professionals Organization of Greater Peoria, and Independent Sports Club of Central Illinois. As a result of his leadership within the Peoria area, Kevin was named one of Peoria’s 40 Leaders under Forty in 2016.

David B. Wiest
Mr. Wiest has a growing trust and estates practice where he advises individuals on estate planning and helps families manage the passing of loved ones. He regularly drafts wills, trusts, powers of attorney-from the simple to the complex. Mr. Wiest guides families through estate administration, which may include probating the estate or helping administer small estates outside of court. Whether providing counsel to executors in multi-million dollar estates or helping a family manage an estate with few assets, Mr. Wiest treats his clients with respect and enjoys listening and helping them solve their problems. Mr. Wiest regularly advises corporate trustees and fiduciaries in trust, estate, and tax issues. In addition to his trust and estates practice, Mr. Wiest handles labor and employment matters. He has served as counsel in negotiating a collective bargaining agreement for a municipality with its 200-plus-member police union. He has successfully arbitrated grievances and represented employers in all phases of the grievance procedure. Mr. Wiest regularly advises employers and non-profit organizations on employment matters. Mr. Wiest also helps his clients with real estate transactions, business and corporate work, and tax preparation. A life-long Peoria-area native, Mr. Wiest cares deeply about his community. He is a leader in the community and devotes many hours to local charities and organizations.

Taylor D. Cascia
Ms. Cascia was born and raised in the Peoria area. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. Ms. Cascia then attended Southern Illinois University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in May of 2021. Ms. Cascia began her career at another local Peoria firm where she gained experience in commercial litigation, workers’ compensation, and local government. Upon starting at our firm, Ms. Cascia has added employment law, environmental law, personal injury law, and trust litigation to her practice. Outside of the office, Ms. Cascia enjoys hiking, beating escape rooms, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Phoebe.
