Kara H. North

Kara H. North is a native of Orem, Utah, and obtained a B.S. in Business Management from UVU in 2007. She then graduated from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2010 with her Juris Doctorate. She began her legal career with a large insurance defense firm in Las Vegas, Nevada. After returning to Utah, Kara began practicing law in Utah County, with a practice primarily focused on plaintiff’s personal injury litigation, criminal defense, and adoption. She has successfully argued for her clients in Juvenile, District, Mental Health Court, and the Utah Court of Appeals. In 2022, Kara partnered with Jill Coil at Moxie Law Group, a boutique personal injury firm in Utah County. Kara currently serves as the UVU Alumni Board President and is a member of the UVU Board of Trustees and UVU Foundation Board. She is the 2025 Women’s Caucus Chair for the Utah Association for Justice, 4th District Chair for Women Lawyers of Utah, and previously served as the President of the Central Utah Bar Association. Kara has also recently been recognized as a 2023 and 2024 Mountain States Super Lawyer, a Top 25 by the National Women Trial Lawyers Association, Utah Business Magazine 100 Legal Elite, and Utah BusinessQ Magazine as a 40 Under 40, and she was recently awarded the UVU Innovation Catalyst Award.

Steve Kuzmich

Steve Kuzmich is the founding partner of Kuzmich Law Firm, P.C. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Andrew Sher

Andrew Sher was born in Durban, Republic of South Africa on March 3, 1969. After obtaining his Bachelor of Business Administration in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Sher attended the University of Houston Law Center. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate in 1993. Upon his completion of law school, Mr. Sher spent the next ten years actively litigating environmental, commercial and personal injury cases with a nationally recognized litigation firm located in Houston. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1994, the Colorado Bar in 1995, the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas, both in 1997. In the fall of 1999, Mr. Sher was designated Special Assistant Attorney General by Attorney General Patricia A. Madrid for the purposes of litigating environmental enforcement actions on behalf of the State of New Mexico. With the positive input and support of outstanding clients, Mr. Sher founded THE SHER LAW FIRM, P.L.L.C. in October 2003 on the belief that he could establish “a small law firm by choice, with big-firm experience and capabilities.” Since its inception, the firm has been actively engaged in prosecuting a wide variety of cases including cost recovery actions on behalf of commercial and residential property rights, commercial torts and breach of contract disputes, environmental pollution claims, environmental crimes, natural resource damage assessments, oil, gas and mineral lease and royalty disputes, oil and gas pipeline leaks, personal injuries, real estate fraud, condemnation claims involving right-of-ways and easements, toxic exposure injuries and water rights and transactions. Jill L. Coil

Jill Coil was born and raised in Utah. From a young age, Jill knew she wanted to advocate for the rights of others as an attorney. She graduated with honors at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Art in Political Science, and she continued her education, receiving her Juris Doctorate in Houston Texas at Texas Southern University. Jill is dually licensed in both Texas and Utah. She founded Utah’s top family law firm CoilLaw, along with Utah’s first female-led personal injury firm, Moxie Law Group. Moxie Law Group was recently honored to be named one of the 100 Companies of Women Championing Women and was also recognized for participating in the ElevateHER challenge. In 2023, Jill was a Super Lawyers winner. Jill’s drive to help others doesn’t stop at legal advocacy: Jill is a celebrated author. She’s is also active in her community and is a participant of the Bar Section in Utah and Texas. Jill is married and has four children. When she’s not advocating for her clients, she enjoys seeing the world through traveling with her family.

Conner Haugen is an aggressive trial attorney focused on achieving high settlements for clients in automobile accidents, catastrophic injuries, premise liability, and medical device failure cases. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and both a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law. He is the Personal Injury Division Manager at The Haugen Law Firm and is licensed to practice law in Texas and New Mexico. Conner is recognized for his courtroom abilities, including the J. Hadley Edgar Trial Excellency Award, and is a member of the American Association for Justice, American Bar Association, Texas Bar Association, and New Mexico Bar Association.

Colleen Carboy

Colleen Carboy is a board-certified Trial Attorney and Registered Nurse specializing in complex litigation involving health care. She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1990 and is recognized for her expertise in medical malpractice, achieving successful settlements and verdicts for clients. She is a life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and has been named to the Super Lawyers list since 2009.

Attorney John Haugen is a former U.S. Army Captain who graduated from West Point in 1984. He holds a Master of Science Degree from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan School of Law. With extensive experience in business management and medical technology, he applies a unique skill set to personal injury cases. He is licensed in Texas state and federal courts and is a member of the Dallas, Denton County, Tarrant County Bar Associations, and the American Association for Justice.
