Richard A. Sinapi

RICHARD A. SINAPI is the principal and managing attorney of Sinapi Law Associates, Ltd. in Warwick, Rhode Island. He has nearly forty (40) years of experience in the general practice of law. His primary areas of practice are employment law and governmental affairs, including discrimination and harassment claims, leave act claims, unemployment benefits claims, collective action minimum wage and overtime claims, and workers’ compensation, as well as civil rights, municipal law, real estate, and personal injury. His practice also includes general civil litigation and real estate law, including both trial and appellate work as well as corporate and commercial law advice, representation, document preparation, and transaction closings. He has co-drafted and successfully lobbied for the passage of numerous pieces of legislation as well as revised agency regulations on behalf of Governmental Affairs clients, such as the local chapter of the ACLU, a home inspector’s association, and various construction industry contractors, trades, and associations, including the New England Mechanical Contractors Association and the Rhode Island Chapter of the Associated General Contractors. Previously, he taught as an adjunct professor at Bryant University and Salve Regina University. He is a member of the Rhode Island Superior Court Bench/Bar Committee; Workers’ Compensation Bench/Bar Committee, American Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association, American Association of Justice, and the Rhode Island Association of Justice (RIAJ). He is also a cooperating attorney with the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (RIACLU) and serves as a member of the RIAJ Board of Governors and served as its President (2019-2020) and previously served as a member and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation. In 2010, he was awarded the William G. McLoughlin First Amendment Award in 2010 by the RIACLU. Mr. Sinapi is a graduate of Colby College and Harvard Law School.

James D. Thrasher

Attorney Jim Thrasher has practiced law in Massachusetts since 1983, handling thousands of cases. He began his career as a bar advocate criminal defense attorney and has handled trial and litigation matters in various District, Superior, and Probate Courts throughout Massachusetts and at the U.S. District Court in Boston. He has handled over five thousand real estate transactions and has experience with products liability and negligence actions. He is also an inventor and co-owns Reach The Beach, Inc.

Gregory A. Mancini

Gregory A. Mancini has been of counsel to Sinapi Law Associates, Ltd. since January of 1999. His primary areas of practice are education law, employment law, in particular minimum wage, overtime, and misclassification claims, construction law, and real estate law. Mr. Mancini also has experience in personal injury, civil rights, non-profit, consumer protection, and business law. Mr. Mancini graduated from Boston College with B.S. in economics in 1984. From 1984 through 1997 he worked in the alcoholic beverage industry working as a sales representative for a local wholesaler, and also as the state manager for the Guinness Import Company for the State of New Jersey. In 1997 he graduated from the Roger Williams University School of Law. He was previously in-house legal counsel and an instructor at the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. He is admitted to State and Federal Bars in the State of Rhode Island and Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In addition to being of counsel to the firm, Mr. Mancini is the executive director and general counsel to BuildRI, a trade association that promotes the interests of the union construction industry. Currently, Mr. Mancini is an attorney member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (an organization dedicated to protecting the legal and civil rights of students with disabilities); a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts’ Bar Associations; director, Quonset Development Corporation; director, Community College of Rhode Island Foundation; member, Christ the King Peace and Justice Committee; member, Station Fire Memorial Foundation Leadership Committee; and member, North Kingstown Comprehensive Plan Committee. He was recently on Sec. of State Nellie Gorbea’s lobbying reform taskforce; was also a member of her transition team after Secretary Gorbea was elected; and, a member of then-candidate for Governor Raimondo’s legal team during her campaign.

Louis Stephen Xifaras

Attorney Louis Stephen Xifaras, founder of Xifaras Law, has over 25 years of experience in various legal areas including criminal defense, workers' compensation, auto accidents, personal injury, divorce, bankruptcy, wills, trusts, and civil litigation. He represents clients in district, superior, probate, family, and juvenile courts, as well as before the Department of Industrial Accidents, Social Security Administration, and U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Anthony E. Sinapi

Anthony E. Sinapi has been associated with Sinapi Law Associates, Ltd. as an attorney since 2015 and is currently Of Counsel to the firm. Anthony practices primarily in general civil litigation. He has substantial litigation and trial experience, including in USERRA, personal injury, contract, corporate, real estate, civil rights, employment, criminal, family law, products liability, and housing matters. Anthony graduated summa cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Psychology, Bachelor of Science in Sociology - Criminology & Criminal Justice, Minor in Chinese Studies, Minor in Comparative Politics & Economics, and Minor in Power & Ethics. He went on to attend Roger Williams University School of Law where earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, cum laude, while simultaneously earning a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Roger Williams University, School of Justice Studies, summa cum laude. He is authorized to practice law in state and federal courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Beth R. Levenson

Beth Levenson grew up in Randolph, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Brandeis University where she majored in Philosophy. She earned her law degree from the Washington College of Law of The American University in Washington, D.C. Ms. Levenson is experienced in the areas of Social Security Disability, Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, and Property Damage in both private practice and as a counselor for several insurance companies. In addition, she has represented many clients with issues relating to insurance coverage, and has lectured extensively to insurance company representatives and Massachusetts attorneys in the areas of Personal Injury Litigation, Insurance Coverage, Automobile Insurance Policies, and Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage. Ms. Levenson has almost thirty years of experience as an appellate litigator, covering various subjects including Social Security Disability, Workman’s Compensation, Criminal Law, Civil Law Topics, and has argued numerous cases before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the Reviewing Board of the Department of Industrial Accidents, the Appeals Court, and the Supreme Judicial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Ms. Levenson is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and of the District of Columbia. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. She has been an Assistant District Attorney in Bristol County, Massachusetts, concentrating in appellate prosecutions. She has also served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in Essex and Worcester Counties, working in the appellate divisions of those offices. Ms. Levenson has taught various courses in the paralegal training programs of both Fisher College and Newbury College. She is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and currently serves as a member of the Board of the Lawyers’ Referral Service and on the Mock Trial Committee and the Appellate Bench/Bar Committee. She volunteers her time to serve as a “judge” in the annual high school Massachusetts Bar Association Mock Trial Competition. She is a former member of the MBA Criminal Law Section Counsel and a former chair of the MBA Law Practice Management Section Counsel. She participates as a panelist on several MBA seminars on the topic of automobile accident cases. Ms. Levenson is also a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys.

Danilo A. Borgas

Danilo A. Borgas is a Shareholder at Sinapi Law Associates, Ltd and has been part of our team since 2013. He is a multi-lingual employment law and complex litigation attorney. Danilo’s practice is focused on representing employees in single and multi-plaintiff wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, medical leave, and wage and hour litigation and in negotiating executive compensation agreements, counseling/litigation regarding restrictive covenants, and reviewing/negotiating severance agreements. Danilo has substantial experience litigating single-party, multi-party, and collective actions before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. He also practices in the areas of public accommodations and civil rights. With a background in regulatory compliance, alternative dispute resolution, and computer technology, Danilo prides himself in offering creative and thorough solutions to his clients in a practical and cost-effective manner. Prior to rejoining Sinapi Law Associates, Ltd. as a Shareholder in 2019, Danilo practiced law at Peabody & Arnold LLP, one of Boston’s oldest and leading law firms, where he focused on providing advice/counsel, risk assessment, and litigation defense. Danilo is a graduate from Johnson and Wales University. He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Roger Williams University School of Law where he earned multiple awards for achieving the highest grades in litigation and public interest law classes. Prior to attending law school, Danilo worked in the banking industry for approximately seven years in dispute resolution, quality analysis, and compliance. Danilo is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. He is licensed to practice law in state and federal courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
