Matthew Russell

Matthew Russell, founding partner of Russell & Hill - Injury & Accident Attorneys, grew up in Southeast Minnesota. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Clemson University and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Hamline University School of Law in 2000. He established his first law office in Bellevue and partnered with Jim Hill in 2005 to found Russell & Hill - Injury & Accident Attorneys. He works extensively in the Everett and Spokane offices, focusing 100% on personal injury cases. Beyond his legal practice, Matt is involved in his community, coaching youth basketball, mentoring students, and serving on the local school board and as an active board member of MercyWatch.

Brandon Batchelor

Brandon Batchelor is a partner and the firm’s lead trial attorney at Russell & Hill - Injury & Accident Attorneys. He is a dedicated and tenacious litigator, fighting for the rights of his clients in personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions, premises/landlord liability, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, medical and dental malpractice, nursing home/elder abuse, and insurance bad-faith actions. He also handles condominium and construction defect litigation. Brandon was born and raised in Illinois, attended Southern Illinois University for undergrad and law school, and Eastern Illinois University for graduate school. He is licensed in Washington, Oregon, and Illinois state courts and has practiced in multiple Federal Courts. He has been selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list.

James Hill

James V Hill, attorney at Russell & Hill - Injury & Accident Attorneys, is a lifelong Washingtonian. He has devoted his law practice to helping people obtain the benefits and compensation they deserve, both in personal injury cases as well as social security disability claims. After graduating with academic honors from Seattle University School of Law, Jim went to work at a law firm that provided legal defense for multiple insurance companies. In 2002, he transitioned his legal practice to focus solely on representing injured people against the insurance companies. In 2005, he began helping clients with Social Security Disability benefits, recognizing similarities between the two practice areas. He continues to represent hundreds of local people in both personal injury and disability claims.

Dean Swanson

Dean Swanson represents individuals who have been injured due to someone else’s fault, focusing on personal injury cases such as motor vehicle collisions and construction site injuries. He aims to make the truth known against large insurance companies or corporations. After graduating with honors from Boston University School of Law, Dean began his career as a public defender in Bellingham, Washington, driven by a deep care for fairness. He later transitioned to representing people in personal injury cases, where he continues to advocate for his clients.

Jaclyn Gaddy

Jaclyn J. Gaddy is a Personal Injury Attorney and Partner at Russell & Hill - Injury & Accident Attorneys, working out of the Everett office. She graduated with honors from Gonzaga University School of Law after completing her undergraduate studies at Eastern Washington University. Jaclyn previously worked for Disability Determination Services (DDS) as an adjudicator, evaluating eligibility for Social Security Disability. She initially used this knowledge to help clients navigate the disability process at Russell & Hill, but now focuses her practice on personal injury cases in western Washington.

Stephen W. Hansen

Steve received an Electrical Engineering degree (with Highest Distinction) and a Juris Doctorate (with Highest Distinction and the Order of Coif award) from the University of Iowa. He thereafter served as Law Clerk to Federal District Judge William T. Beeks for 2 years upon graduation from law school. In private practice Steve has been appointed as a Special Master in the Western District of Washington Federal Court and countless times has served as an Arbitrator in Washington State Court proceedings. His practice emphasizes real estate law, homeowners/condominium association law, construction law and personal injury law. He and his wife, Elizabeth, live on acreage in northern Snohomish County where she owns and operates an equestrian facility. They have two amazing adult children.

Ryan Miller

Ryan Miller is an associate attorney at Russell & Hill - Injury & Accident Attorneys, working out of the firm’s Spokane office. He focuses his practice on personal injury cases in eastern Washington, where he has lived for over 19 years. Ryan graduated from Whitworth University and earned his J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law, making the Dean’s Academic Honor List. Initially a family law litigator, he transitioned to personal injury, applying his litigation and dispute resolution experience to diverse personal injury matters, fighting for his clients with a personalized and strategic approach.
