Mark A. Clausen

Mark Clausen is a leading attorney in construction and real estate law, the result of his successful practice in those areas since the mid-1980s. He has repeatedly been named a “Super Lawyer” by Washington Law & Politics magazine. After working for many years in civil litigation firms, Mark started his own practice, Clausen Law Firm, in 1993. He has handled high-profile, major matters in Washington, Alaska, California, Texas and Michigan. He has been involved in the trial of multimillion dollar cases since the late 1980s, and has negotiated a number of settlements for his clients involving payment of millions of dollars. Mark has served as a trustee for the board of the Construction Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association. He is a past chairman of the WSBA Consumer Protection Committee. Jim Holland

Jim Holland, Jr. is a graduate of the University of Washington (BBA 1999) and the Willamette University College of Law (JD 2002). He served as Articles Editor of the Willamette Law Review. He formerly practiced at Perkins Coie in Seattle and was a King County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. He has tried more than thirty civil and criminal cases to verdict, obtaining significant awards and settlements including a $2.6 million award, a $10 million judgment for wrongful death, a $2 million settlement against a school district, a $1.3 million settlement for over-service of alcohol, and a $1 million settlement for chiropractic negligence. He also secured nearly $1 million in two chronic pain auto cases. Jim has been lead counsel in a three-week medical malpractice jury trial and is retained as lead-counsel in select commercial contract litigation. He has published in a peer-reviewed legal journal and routinely writes and lectures on trial practice. He combines a blue-collar work ethic with experience from large law firms and as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, providing unparalleled legal services and maintaining a personal connection with clients. He is a native, third-generation Washingtonian, born and raised in Vancouver, Washington, and has lived in the Seattle area for nearly twenty years.

Court was born and raised in Tacoma and completed his undergraduate and law degree at Pepperdine University. He initially worked as a criminal defense attorney in Southern California, representing thousands of clients for various crimes, including sex crimes. He was the first attorney to take a 'To Catch A Predator' case to trial. After focusing on criminal defense, he expanded into personal injury law. He has conducted countless jury trials with great success and now practices in Washington State.

Jim Holland, Sr. began practicing law in 1973 after graduating from the University of Idaho Law School. He co-founded Hall & Holland and has successfully tried or resolved numerous cases involving wrongful death, negligent highway design, products liability, auto, trucking and motorcycle crashes, and other personal injury cases. He also litigates and advises clients on matters involving real estate, trusts, estate planning, business planning and dissolution, commercial banking, and employment. With over forty years of experience, he has tried dozens of cases before judges and juries across the State. He is responsible for growing Holland Law Group into a premier boutique litigation law firm. He has authored Washington Civil Procedures Desk Book chapters, served as an arbitrator, been retained as an expert witness on law practice standards, and presented state-wide legal CLE seminars.

Steven M. Malek

After graduating from law school in Toronto in 1982, Steven Malek practiced as a barrister before the Canadian courts in Ontario and Quebec, including appearances as counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada. He honed his trial practice and advocacy skills in personal injury and criminal defense cases, as well as in representing physicians in disciplinary matters. Since establishing his practice in Seattle in 1999, Steven has focused his entire attention on personal injury litigation in order to provide individuals who have been injured through the fault of others with exceptional legal representation that never loses sight of the priorities and needs of the individual client. Steven works aggressively and passionately to obtain full compensation for his injured clients while keeping them informed every step along the way. Michelle was one of the youngest graduates of Brooklyn Law School. She began her career in civil law, focusing on corporate mergers and acquisitions and restructurings. She then became a Deputy District Attorney for the County of San Bernardino, handling hundreds of cases, prosecuting many trials, and arguing evidentiary hearings. For the past 20 years, she has applied her skills to help her clients, known for her negotiation talents and determination.
