J. Eric Cavanaugh

Eric Cavanaugh is a Founder of Cavanaugh & Thickens, LLC. He co-founded the firm in 2017. Previously, he worked at a defense firm, focusing on defending large trucking companies in personal injury cases. He uses this experience to benefit his current clients. Eric is a native of Columbia, South Carolina, and earned both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of South Carolina. He is an active member of the South Carolina Bar, Richland County Bar, South Carolina Association for Justice, and American Association for Justice.

Herbert W. Auger

Herbert W. Auger, Esq., started his career as an attorney with a large law firm that represented personal injury victims. The firm represented auto, bus, motorcycle and trucking accident victims. It also provided assistance with medical malpractice cases; premises liability claims; and workers’ compensation claims arising from construction accidents and other on-the-job injuries. He subsequently left that practice to focus on founding his own law firm. Mr. Auger started his private practice in 1992 in New York and moved the practice to North Carolina in 1995. He has now been practicing law for over 20 years, and has spent the last 16 years practicing in North Carolina, where he has made a home for himself and his family. Mr. Auger believes in aggressive, high-impact representation for auto accident victims and manages his law firm so that he can get the highest awards for his clients possible.

Joseph O. Thickens

Joe Thickens is a Founder, Partner, and Personal Injury Attorney at Cavanaugh & Thickens, LLC, which he co-founded in 2017. He previously defended companies in personal injury cases and handled insurance coverage and bad faith cases. Joe is from Rock Hill, South Carolina, and earned both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of South Carolina. He is an active member of the South Carolina Bar, Richland County Bar, South Carolina Association for Justice, and American Association for Justice.

Lauren Taylor

Lauren was raised in a single-parent household in Greenville, South Carolina. Arlene P. Auger. Esq., has worked directly for GEICO and with law firms that represented the interests of CIGNA, Liberty Mutual and AETNA in New York. She joined Auger & Auger, the law firm started by Herbert W. Auger, in 1995. Mrs. Auger believes in applying her extensive background in insurance law to provide aggressive, high-impact representation for clients who have been in car accidents.

Merritt Farmer was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He graduated from The Citadel with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting) and an MBA. He attended Charleston School of Law and is licensed to practice in South Carolina.
