Daniel Shawn Pickens

Daniel Shawn Pickens was born and raised in Sheffield, AL, graduating from Sheffield High School in 2009. He earned a degree in General Studies from Calhoun Community College, where he played golf, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of West Alabama in 2019, where he was recognized as the University Scholar in Finance. He received his law degree from Birmingham School of Law in December 2022, where he was awarded the Outstanding 1L award, inducted into the Judge Hugh Locke Honor Society, named a 'BSL Star,' and achieved the highest grade in several courses including Torts I, Contracts I, Legal Methods, Civil Procedure I, Evidence I, and Domestic Relations. Prior to his legal career, he spent several years as a Firefighter with the City of Madison, becoming an Advanced EMT, and also coached women's golf at Calhoun Community College, leading his team to be named the ACCC Academic Team of the Year. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, hiking, reading, and playing chess. His practice focuses on estate planning, probate, real estate law, personal injury, business, and contract law.

James R. Engelthaler was admitted to practice law in Alabama in 1993 after receiving his B.S. Degree in Accounting from the University of North Alabama and his Juris Doctorate Degree from Birmingham School of Law. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable E. B. Haltom, Jr., Senior, United States District Court Judge. Mr. Engelthaler is an experienced trial lawyer with an active civil and criminal litigation practice in both Federal and State Courts, focusing on personal injury, real estate law, Wills and Estates, contract disputes, business law and corporations, criminal law (including white collar crimes), and family law. He has practiced before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also a pilot, holding the rank of Major, USAF Auxiliary/Civil Air Patrol, and volunteers extensively in his community and church, including serving on the board of Shoals Habitat For Humanity, as a member and officer of the Downtown Florence Kiwanis club, and as a youth league baseball and softball coach. He is an adjunct professor at Northwest Shoals Community College, teaching Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, and Criminal Evidence.

Randy K. Thigpen is a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, Alabama. He graduated from Rogers High School and the University of North Alabama with a B.S. in Management and Business Administration and an M.B.A. He also completed post-graduate work at the University of Alabama and the University of Virginia. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Birmingham School of Law. Prior to his law career, he served 12 years with the Florence Police Department, rising to Lieutenant in the Investigative Department, and graduated from the Montgomery Police Academy and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy. He founded Quality Title & Escrow, Inc. in 1997 and concentrates his practice in Real Estate, Corporations, Wills, Trusts, and Estates. He is involved in various real estate transactions, complex title issues, litigation, and foreclosures, and is a certified mediator for civil and domestic matters.
