Jason M. Milam
The most satisfying part of my job is fighting for people who are faced with the toughest situation of their lives. I get to learn their story and present it from a viewpoint that the law doesn't usually see - my client's. Whether defending someone from false accusations or fighting for the best interest of children, practicing trial law allows me to show prosecutors, judges, and juries a different perspective: that my client is a human being who deserves the full protection of the law, not just a name and number. Born in the Texas Panhandle, I grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Ronald Reagan High School summa cum laude before moving to Waco to attend Baylor University in 2005. After graduating from Baylor University, I was offered a full-tuition scholarship to study at Baylor Law School. At Baylor Law, I focused my studies on criminal law, completing the school's Criminal Law concentration. Since beginning practice in 2013, I have represented hundreds of Central Texans in criminal, DWI, divorce, custody, and personal injury matters. Since 2016, I have served as the President of the McLennan County Defense Lawyers Association. In that capacity, I have championed criminal justice causes in McLennan County and in the Texas State Legislature. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the McLennan County Young Lawyers Association. In 2019, I was selected as the McLennan County Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year and was nominated for the Texas Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year. I have been recognized by Thomson Reuters for Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2019 and 2020. In October 2014, I married my college sweetheart and fellow attorney, Amanda. Together we have renovated a historic Waco home near downtown where we live with our daughters, Evelyn and Joyce, and our four rescue animals-Winston, Franklin, Eleanor, and Sebastian. Away from the practice of law, I also support the animal rescue mission of the largest no-kill animal shelter in Central Texas, Fuzzy Friends Rescue, as a member of the Board of Directors since 2016.

David Fanning
I was born into a thinking, working-class family. My father, a great trial lawyer, is the smartest man I have ever known. My grandfather was the kindest man to ever walk the planet. He is a 30YR General Motors Union Man who never called in sick a day in his life. I thank them both for teaching me to understand hard work. I attended University of Texas and graduated Cum Laude in 2000. I stayed at the university and received a master’s in early American studies. I went on to SMU Law School and have been practicing since 2004. In my career, there are three things of which I am most proud. First, while always practicing in family and criminal law I have never had a single bar complaint of any kind. I attribute this to always being available to clients and to being prepared at all times. Second, from 2010-2013, I went without a single adverse decision in a family law matter. That included two male custody jury trials and over 20 live hearings on custody or support. Finally, while practicing in over 50 courts and 20 counties, I have never been sanctioned or contempted on a single issue. I believe respect for courts and their personnel adds directly to my ability to help clients. In my entire career, I have never been one minute late for any court appearance. Because of hard work and trial experience, I am always able to help the people of central Texas. Being an honest lawyer matters. My grandmother taught me to read early and I will forever be grateful to her for my love of language and words. To this day, I am a heavy reader and enjoy history and politics. While I love a good book and playing online games on my xbox1, I find it hard to stay indoors. I am an avid bass fisherman and a part-time drag racer, once winning Angler of the Year and qualifying number 1 in a true 10.5 drag race. Of all my accomplishments, the one of which I'm most proud of happened in 2005, when Alicia Fanning became my wife. She is my best friend and a source of strength and inspiration.
