He successfully argued a case before the Ohio Supreme Court, leading to a major change in Ohio Workers Compensation Law. Steven G. Thomakos
Steve received his J.D. from The University Of Akron, School Of Law. His first job as an attorney was with The Stark County Public Defender’s Office. After which he spent time with Ohio’s Fifth District Court of Appeals. In 1990, Steve started his own private practice, which included working on workers compensation law in 1992. He also taught business law to night students for a year at Kent State University, Tuscarawas campus. Steve has been a trial lawyer for the most part with experience in Appellate work as well. Brittney Michael
Brittney Michael is a dedicated Associate Attorney driven by a passion for helping others through legal knowledge. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Youngstown State University in 2021. She received her Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law in 2024. During her studies, she interned with Community Legal Aid, was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, worked with the Inmate Assistance Program, clerked at a private law firm, and volunteered with the University of Akron Legal Clinic to help individuals with Certificates of Qualification for Employment (CQEs). Brittney passed the Ohio Bar Examination in July 2024 and was sworn in as an attorney on November 12, 2024. She enjoys reading, documentaries, pickleball, trying new recipes, and spending time with loved ones and her dog, Lucy.

Gregory J. McCleery
Greg McCleery is the founder of McCleery Law Firm. He initially focused on energy law, assisting with title research, leasing negotiations, and curative title work in the oil and gas industry. He expanded the firm into family law and oil and gas as core practices, building a reputation for client-focused service. Moufid Sayej
