Stephen Warren Solomon

Stephen Warren Solomon, co-founder and Managing Partner of SSJ Law, is recognized by his industry peers as a leader in his practice areas. Stephen Allen Jamieson

Ralph Saltsman

RALPH B. SALTSMAN is a co-founding partner of SSJ Law with over 40 years of experience in Liquor Law and Land Use Planning, in all Administrative and Governmental Relations, Appellate Law & Constitutional Law, and Indian Gaming and Sovereignty Law. Recognized by his peers as a SuperLawyer® for the last 15 years, Ralph is a respected leader in his fields of practice. Ralph has represented clients before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit, and U.S. District Courts in the Southern, Central and Northern Districts of California. Xelef L. Botan

XELEF L. BOTAN is an associate at SSJ and licensed to represent clients throughout California. His practice areas include civil litigation, business litigation, employment law, serious personal injury and wrongful death matters, administrative law, alcohol law, and land use. He is particularly interested in the rapidly evolving fields of privacy, artificial intelligence, technology, and telecommunications law, driven by the increasing intersection of these areas with everyday life and business operations. Mr. Botan earned his B.A. in International Relations from Brown University where he became the first student from Turkey to receive a full scholarship. After earning his undergraduate degree, he spent five years in various roles at a multinational technology and home goods company, ultimately serving as Key Account Manager for corporate sales. Mr. Botan went on to earn his M.A. at the University of Chicago on a full scholarship, where his thesis focused on the constitution-building process and political formation of Syrian Kurds in Rojava. He then earned his J.D. at the University of Colorado Law School as a LILAC Fellow, once again receiving a full scholarship. At Colorado, he was a student attorney for their Samuelson-Glushko Technology Law and Policy Clinic representing institutional clients before state and federal level regulatory agencies. During his summers in law school, Mr. Botan also gained hands-on experience through internships with software company Twilio and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under the U.S. Department of Commerce. Moreover, he also externed at the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Attorney General’s Office in the Consumer Protection Division.

R. Bruce Evans

R. BRUCE EVANS is a partner at SSJ Law. With a diverse range of clients ranging from local businesses to international companies, Bruce’s practice is focused on Land Use and Zoning including Discretionary Approvals, Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) issues, Entertainment, Licensing, and Government Relations at the municipal and state level. Bruce also represents clients in Employment and Personal Injury matters. Bruce has been honored as a Rising Star® on numerous occasions and was profiled in Southern California’s Top Rated Lawyers®. After graduating from the University of California Santa Barbara, Bruce received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University in 2001. He is licensed to practice law in California and has represented clients in both state and federal trial courts, the California Courts of Appeal, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

Ryan Kroll

Ryan Kroll gets things done. Ryan is a partner at SSJ Law, and has extensive experience in Personal Injury Litigation, Employment Litigation, Complex Business Litigation, Administrative Law, Gaming Law, and Land Use. Ryan has logged hundreds of hours representing clients in civil trials and hearings before various state agencies, planning commissions, and city councils. Licensed to practice law in California, Washington, and Oregon, Ryan has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in wrongful death cases, personal injury, insurance disputes, employment matters, and business and contract disputes. He is also an experienced gaming lawyer who has assisted many start-up gaming operations concerning compliance with state and federal gaming laws. Ryan has a vast knowledge of Indian Law and has participated in compact negotiations with the Governor of California on behalf of tribes. With significant victories both as a trial attorney and as an appellate attorney, Ryan has seven times been voted a “Rising Star” by Oregon SuperLawyers® and twice by Southern California SuperLawyers®, an honor bestowed on no more than 2.5% of young attorneys. Esther Kim

ESTHER KIM, an associate attorney at SSJ Law, has experience in Civil Litigation, Restraining Orders, Lemon Law, and Pre-Litigation Personal Injury. Esther has had success in representing clients both in and out of the courtroom. Working in the best interests of the client, Esther has been able to successfully mediate contentious divorces and settle personal injury claims without necessitating the involvement of the court. Licensed to practice law in California, Esther has represented clients in various restraining order cases, personal injury, and lemon law disputes. In addition to graduating in the Top 10% from Southwestern Law School’s 2-Year SCALE Program, Esther earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. During her time at Southwestern Law School, Esther worked as a Dean’s Fellow and Teaching Assistant for Contracts Law in order to provide one-on-one mentorship and guidance to incoming law students.
