Mike Morgan
Mike Morgan, disability attorney, joined Parmele Disability Advocates in 2015, focusing his practice on disability advocacy in Kansas. Before becoming a disability attorney with Parmele Disability Advocates, he began his career in 1970 as an assistant state attorney in Miami, Fla., before being appointed division chief in 1973. Mike joined the Wichita district attorney’s office in 1974 and tried over 200 felony jury cases as a prosecutor with a high conviction rate. He went into private practice in 1977 and worked on a variety of cases involving criminal defense, medical malpractice and personal injury before joining Wichita Legal Services in 1980. In late 1989, Mike encouraged five private attorneys to obtain a temporary restraining order preventing the elimination of the MediKan program. As lead counsel of the class action, he received a temporary injunction in 1990, preventing the implementation of a new regulation that reduced available services. Although the case was later lost in 1993, the lawsuit continued the General Assistance program in Kansas that continued until terminated at the direction of governor Brownback. Mike has served on the CLE committee of the Wichita Bar Association for fifteen years and has participated in a number of CLE programs in the areas of disability advocacy, Medicare, and ethics on behalf of the Kansas Bar Association. Daniel A. Parmele
Over the past two decades of working in social security disability law, I believe my primary duty as a disability attorney is not to guarantee I will win every case but to guarantee that I will always fight to win each case. I believe this can be done in a respectful manner; however, it is my goal that our Firm provides compassionate and zealous advocacy for every single client who gives us the opportunity to represent him or her. Before starting his private practice as a disability attorney, Mr. Parmele worked with the Social Security Administration as a Senior Staff Attorney. He worked directly with the Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), helping them determine who would receive benefits and who would not. Often, he alone would bear the burden of issuing decisions for claimants. For years, Mr. Parmele witnessed firsthand the difficulties that worthy people faced as they tried to get Social Security disability benefits for themselves and their hurting families. In 1995, Mr. Parmele started his private practice so that he could put his knowledge of the Social Security system to work to help the disabled in America. Since that time, he has worked as a disability attorney on behalf of Social Security claimants and their claims. Mr. Parmele has a strong faith in God that has changed his life. He has founded his firm on biblical principles such as genuine trust in Christ, hope, care, compassion, fairness, honesty, justice, and taking up the fight for those in need.
