Bob is the founding partner of McCollum Crowley. He has tried well over 100 civil cases to conclusion in multiple jurisdictions. Bob represents clients involved in complex litigation, including products liability cases, claims of professional misconduct, construction claims, personal injury claims, and high-level insurance coverage disputes. Minnesota Law & Politics/Super Lawyers has annually designated Bob as a Super Lawyer since 2004. Bob also carries an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell, is a “Top 100 High Stakes Litigator”, and a “Top Lawyer” in Insurance Law. For a number of years, Bob co-chaired the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association Insurance Law Institute and is a member of the prestigious International Association of Defense Counsel. In 2012, Bob was recognized as a North Star Lawyer for authoring and securing passage of legislation protecting non-profits from liability exposure to Ponzi type claw back claims.

Jessica A. Zeletes

Jess represents clients in construction, personal injury, and tort suits. Prior to joining McCollum Crowley, Jess was the judicial law clerk for a district count judge in Mankato, Minnesota. There, Jess was exposed to all areas of law and, more importantly, recognized what judges expect from professional and skilled attorneys. Jess was raised in both Colorado and Minnesota, but has also lived in Rhode Island, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Georgia. She attended college at CSU in Fort Collins and went on to graduate with honors from Emory law in Atlanta. Jess believes that the key to effective communication and trust with clients is the ability to relate and understand their concerns and her well-rounded background helps foster these relationships.

Brett has been defending Colorado workers’ compensation claims since 2000 and currently heads up the Colorado Workers Compensation Section of McCollum Crowley. Brett was honored as PWC’s Outstanding Respondents’ Attorney (Winner 2024, Nominee 2013), and recognized in 2019 with a nomination for the Comp Laude Award as a top national workers’ compensation attorney. In addition to serving on various non-profit and governmental boards and commissions, Brett served on the Board of Directors for Professionals in Workers’ from 2014 to 2022, including five terms as President. Brett is a member of numerous other workers’ compensation organizations.

Jake possesses nearly two decades of experience litigating cases in Minnesota and Wisconsin state and federal courts. As a shareholder with the firm, Jake takes on some of the most difficult and complex cases including wrongful death, failure to provide adequate premises security, auto liability, and subrogation claims. Numerous carriers and self-insured businesses have designated Jake as their approved counsel. His clients range from insurers and individuals/small family businesses to multi-national corporations Jake has been recognized as a “Rising Star” and has received numerous other accolades for his expertise and common sense approach to the resolution of claims.

Todd Smith

A life-long resident of Barron County, Todd attended Rice Lake High School and went on to attend the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where he majored in business and finance. He then attended William Mitchell College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 2003 and shortly after graduating, moved back to the Rice Lake area. Todd's true passions are hunting and fishing, so the north woods will always be his home. Todd's practice is focused on family law, civil litigation and personal injury.

Tim followed his family’s tradition when he elected to pursue law as a career. In his first ten years of practice, Tim worked on major fire/explosion litigation throughout the country, including industrial manufacturing fires, warehouse fires, church fires, hotel fires, agricultural fires, mill explosions and single and multifamily dwelling fires and explosions. Tim appreciates the need for developing a case from the incident forward and is familiar with and has worked with some the best origin and cause experts, electric engineering experts, metallurgists, material scientists and fire protection engineers in the nation. Since joining McCollum Crowley years ago, Tim has continued to focus his practice on fire/explosion litigation including recent cases involving a CNG explosion at a national manufacturer of commercial vehicles resulting in multi-million dollar claims; a propane tank explosion resulting in multiple property damage claims; and another propane explosion at a lake cabin resulting in multiple fatalities and wrongful death claims. Tim’s practice also includes a variety of tort and contract litigation claims including construction, vaccine, and commercial transportation. Tim welcomes the challenge of creating “out-of-the-box” solutions for his clients.

Fred graduated from The John Marshall Law School (now UIC John Marshall Law School). While in law school he served on the Moot Court Council. Fred represents employers and insurers in workers compensation claims. Fred brings over fifteen years of experience as an attorney. Ten years of his practice was as Field Legal Counsel for a large insurance company. As Field Legal Counsel Fred oversaw the company’s workers compensation resolution team where he was responsible for management and resolution of workers compensation claims for the entire state. In addition to management of those claims, Fred tried numerous workers compensation claims and has successfully represented employers and insurers in workers compensation appeals. Prior to joining McCollum Crowley Fred was employed as an attorney in County Government, serving as both in-house legal counsel and representing the Texas Department of Children and Family Services in Child Protective Services cases.
