Bruce Schottland
Bruce Schottland is a founding partner of Harter & Schottland, P.C.. He is an experienced litigator. He began his career at a large civil defense firm in Chicago . After gaining valuable experience in the civil area, Mr. Schottland left the firm to learn the art of Criminal Defense. Since then he has conducted countless contested hearings and has taken hundreds of cases to trial. He has defended individuals charged with traffic, criminal misdemeanors and the most serious felonies. Further, Mr. Schottland has maintained a varied civil practice by representing individuals and businesses in areas such as personal injury, eviction proceedings and contract disputes. Bruce Schottland was raised in Lake County, leaving only to attend the University of Illinois Law School. He is an active community partner and volunteers extensively. He is a longstanding board member for the Mano a Mano Family Resource Center where he also served as an Executive Board Member. He volunteered as a NICASA truancy court judge. He has also volunteered as a scholarship judge for the Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. Bruce also served as President of Chapter 932 of the Experimental Aircraft Association for four years. Jeremy Harter
Jeremy S. Harter is a founding partner of Harter & Schottland, P.C.. Before founding the firm, Mr. Harter developed his broad knowledge and expertise at another well known law firm. There, he was responsible for municipal prosecution and assisting in municipal corporate issues for two large villages in Lake County. In addition, Mr. Harter developed a practice in other areas, as well. Today, Mr. Harter brings this varied background to Harter & Schottland, P.C. where he represents individuals and businesses in civil litigation such as landlord / tenant cases, contractual disputes, liquor commission hearings, Illinois Secretary of State hearings and others. Moreover, Mr. Harter has extensive experience litigating traffic, misdemeanor and felony cases in both contested motion hearings and trials, where he has enjoyed tremendous success. Ramon Cervantes
Partner, Ramon Cervantes has worked with Harter & Schottland, P.C. for more than 15 years. Robert Deters
Robert Deters is a tireless advocate for his clients and always fights for his clients. Born and raised in Wisconsin, he is a proud Badger and graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a degree in International Relations. Later he attended the University of Wisconsin- Madison’s Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2005.
