Justin Browne

Mr. Browne is a partner at KBD. He is passionate about litigating cases to aggressively uncover evidence, exclude opposing experts, and develop well-founded, trial-ready cases backed by sound evidence and innovative strategies and technology. He handles an array of cases but has focused primarily on mass tort (medical devices and other products), catastrophic injuries (including brain and spinal cord injuries), and class action cases. He has diverse experience in complex matters, including within consolidated actions in state and federal courts nationally. He has successfully negotiated several substantial recoveries securing tens of millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients. Mr. Browne has litigated cases across the country on a pro hac vice basis and been part of several trial teams, most recently second-chairing the first bellwether trial in a mass tort litigation involving thousands of individuals and complex interrelated regulatory and scientific issues. He has also served on committees within and been a member of Plaintiffs Steering Committees, most recently for the medical device Essure litigation consolidated in California state court. Mr. Browne was a leader in the pain pump and GranuFlo litigations, including leading committees on and working within the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee. He previously interned with a judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He also worked for a non-profit organization doing appellate and administrative law work. Before graduating cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Law, Mr. Browne worked in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, in clinical research, and other healthcare related capacities.

Michael Appel

Michael Appel is Senior Trial Counsel at KBD Attorneys and Chair of the firm’s Medical Malpractice Group. He is widely recognized as one of the nation’s top mass-tort lawyers, with a focus on cases against the drug and medical-device industry. Robert Price

Robert has dedicated his entire career to being a trial lawyer and litigating products liability cases, with a particular focus on catastrophic injuries caused by products and mass tort drug and medical device cases. He is currently KBD’s lead lawyer for the firm’s extensive hernia mesh docket and litigates an array of other complex matters. Robert has specialized in products liability for over a decade and has extensive litigation and trial experience. Robert has tried several complex cases, which includes being a trial team member in the Allen v. Takeda, et al. trial, the first and only bellwether case in In Re: Actos MDL 2299, which resulted in a $9 billion dollar verdict, one of the largest civil litigation drug verdicts in U.S. history. Robert has an expansive leadership history, and currently serves as co-lead counsel in In Re: Strattice Hernia Mesh Litigation (MCL 636). He has previously served on numerous complex litigation steering committees, including: In Re: Proceed Mesh Litigation (New Jersey Multicounty Litigation MCL 630) (executive committee member); In Re: Davol, Inc. / C.R. Annette H. Green

Annette Hill Green received her Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 1997 and practices alongside her husband. She is an experienced general practice attorney and concentrates on a variety of personal injury matters, civil rights cases, criminal cases and chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy filings.
