Kara H. North
Kara H. North is a native of Orem, Utah, and obtained a B.S. in Business Management from UVU in 2007. She then graduated from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2010 with her Juris Doctorate. She began her legal career with a large insurance defense firm in Las Vegas, Nevada. After returning to Utah, Kara began practicing law in Utah County, with a practice primarily focused on plaintiff’s personal injury litigation, criminal defense, and adoption. She has successfully argued for her clients in Juvenile, District, Mental Health Court, and the Utah Court of Appeals. In 2022, Kara partnered with Jill Coil at Moxie Law Group, a boutique personal injury firm in Utah County. Kara currently serves as the UVU Alumni Board President and is a member of the UVU Board of Trustees and UVU Foundation Board. She is the 2025 Women’s Caucus Chair for the Utah Association for Justice, 4th District Chair for Women Lawyers of Utah, and previously served as the President of the Central Utah Bar Association. Gerald M. Salcido
Jerry Salcido is a trial lawyer who is licensed to practice law in Utah and Arizona and a founding Member of Salcido Law Firm PLLC. Before founding Salcido Law Firm, Jerry practiced litigation in the San Francisco Bay Area for six years, including at one of the world’s largest law firms, Baker & McKenzie LLP. In doing so, Jerry gained invaluable experience in representing everyone from the local individual to the multinational Fortune 500 company. In addition to having appeared countless times before both state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels, Jerry also has vast experience in alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and international arbitration. Since leaving the Bay Area to form his own firm in 2009 with his brother Chris, Jerry has focused his practice on representing individuals in criminal defense matters. Jerry has represented thousands of people and hundreds of trials. He is one of the most experienced trial attorneys in Utah. Gerald M. Salcido is one of the founding partners of Salcido Law Firm. Jill L. Coil
Jill Coil was born and raised in Utah. From a young age, Jill knew she wanted to advocate for the rights of others as an attorney. She graduated with honors at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Art in Political Science, and she continued her education, receiving her Juris Doctorate in Houston Texas at Texas Southern University. Jill is dually licensed in both Texas and Utah. She founded Utah’s top family law firm CoilLaw, along with Utah’s first female-led personal injury firm, Moxie Law Group. Moxie Law Group was recently honored to be named one of the 100 Companies of Women Championing Women and was also recognized for participating in the ElevateHER challenge. In 2023, Jill was a Super Lawyers winner. Jill’s drive to help others doesn’t stop at legal advocacy: Jill is a celebrated author. She’s is also active in her community and is a participant of the Bar Section in Utah and Texas. Jill is married and has four children. Jon M. Hogelin
Jon M. Hogelin is a graduate of Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark School of Law. Mr. Hogelin also received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University (Political Science) and his associate’s degree from Utah Valley University (Engineering). While in law school, Mr. Hogelin served on the Moot Court Board of Advocates, where he competed in Washington D.C., and on the Education and Law Journal Editorial Board. He published an article in the Brigham Young University Education and Law Journal titled “To Prevent And To Protect: The Reporting Of Child Abuse By Educators.” He also provided research as an assistant for Professor Shima Baradaran in the area of criminal law. Further, during law school, he clerked for firms in Salt Lake City and Park City, while also externing for the Honorable Dee Benson of the United States Federal Court. Mr. Hogelin’s experience includes over fifteen years in the legal industry. He has extensive knowledge and experience concerning litigation, including protective orders, probates, divorce, custody, adoption, and enforcement of Court orders. He has also worked in many other areas of law, including commercial & civil litigation, business formations, criminal defense, real estate, wills & trusts, debt collection, personal injury and bankruptcy. Mr. Hogelin is experienced with drafting and reviewing contracts, pleadings, estate planning, forming businesses, oral arguments, trial preparation, settlement negotiations, mediations and research. He strives to effectively listen and identify the concerns of clients and is dedicated to vigorously pursue a resolution to any issue. Mr. Hogelin is originally from Colorado and is an avid Broncos, Jazz and Rockies fan. A former collegiate baseball player, he enjoys playing and keeping up with different types of sports.
