Kelly Calder Mowen

Kelly Calder Mowen oversees complex litigation, having defended hundreds of claims in asbestos and pharmaceutical cases pending in state and federal court. She has years of experience in the areas of product and premises liability, mass torts, toxic torts, bad faith, and other insurance coverage disputes. Kelly has presented on multi-district litigation practice at DRI’s Product Liability Seminar and authored and co-authored publications for DRI and the IADC, among others.

Jon B. Orndorff

Jon Orndorff has twenty-five years of experience litigating matters involving toxic torts, product liability, premises liability, pharmaceuticals, class actions, insurance defense (including third party disputes and coverage issues), trucking and automotive, banking and credit unions, and appellate issues. He is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and throughout West Virginia and Kentucky. He has trial experience in West Virginia, California, Oregon, and New York. Jon has defended numerous corporate defendants in trial courts across the country and before the mass litigation panel in West Virginia. He has served as national coordinating counsel for multiple corporate defendants involved in product liability litigation nationwide, with an unparalleled success record of dramatically lowering clients’ case numbers, costs and risk.

Gordon L. Mowen, II

Gordon advises corporate clients on a wide array of legal issues and currently serves as General Counsel to several national and regional corporate clients in the residential services, consumer services, and manufacturing industries. He focuses on employment practices and commercial disputes, and has been recognized as a “Best Lawyer” (Insurance Law, Product Liability Litigation, and Appellate Practice) and “Rising Star Super Lawyer” in the area of Business and Corporate law. From pre-suit investigations through trial, Gordon has years of experience defending corporate clients-ranging from employment issues, contract disputes, and products cases-in both State and Federal courts, and various administrative bodies. His practice takes him coast to coast and everywhere in between. Whether prevailing at oral argument on the West Coast in a high stakes appeal, parachuting into a contentious business dispute on the east coast, or litigating in the heartland of the U.S., Gordon has built his practice around obtaining successful results for his clients. In addition, Gordon is an accomplished appellate advocate and has practiced before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and state appellate courts across the nation. In 2018, Gordon co-authored an amicus brief on behalf of a 28-State coalition in two cases in which the United States Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of a publicly maintained World War I memorial. And in 2024, Gordon served as counsel to the West Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee.

Alysse’s civil practice focuses on defense of professional and corporate institutions and insurance coverage matters. Alysse has assisted clients with the representation of business policyholders relative to various risk transfer issues in the commercial general liability context, insurance claim presentation and coverage denials, bad faith, commercial and business litigation, and appeals. Alysse has also defended cases involving medical malpractice, premises liability, general civil litigation, professional negligence, and commercial issues.

Heather Mulroney

Heather’s civil practice focuses on strategic legal advocacy to individuals and businesses navigating complex disputes. She has successfully represented clients in a wide range of civil matters, including contract disputes, business litigation, real estate conflicts, and professional liability claims. Heather has also worked to protect clients’ rights on cases involving commercial liability, insurance claim coverage denials, and general civil litigation. In addition to private practice, Heather has seven years of federal government experience, where she gained invaluable experience handling complex regulatory, compliance, and diplomatic and international security issues. This background gives her a unique perspective in navigating government processes, administrative law, and high-stakes disputes involving federal agencies. Constance H. Weber

Connie is a seasoned employment attorney with nearly 30 years of experience defending West Virginia employers in a wide range of workplace matters. Her expertise spans discrimination and harassment claims, hiring and termination practices, performance management, wage and hour compliance, disability accommodations, and leave policies. She is highly regarded for her skill in conducting workplace investigations and guiding employers through day-to-day HR challenges, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and employee handbooks. Beyond her legal career, Connie is deeply committed to community service. She serves as President of the Gabriel Project of West Virginia, Inc., a nonprofit organization supporting pregnant women and young families. She also sits on the Board of Directors for Goodwill of the Summit, contributing her leadership and advocacy to further their mission. Connie is a certified yoga instructor, teaching classes at various locations throughout the Charleston area. Her passion for wellness complements her professional and philanthropic endeavors. She and her husband Erik are proud parents of three adult children-Jack, Amelia, and Sam.
