Fred Taylor

Fred Taylor

Fred D. Taylor is a native of the Old Dominion, where his family roots go back to the settlement of Jamestowne. Following in that legacy, he grew up in the Tidewater region in an eclectic mix of rural farms and city life, and was blessed to be influenced by everything from fishing and crabbing in the Nansemond River, to studying law, history, and politics. Fred holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Old Dominion University, and a Juris Doctor from the Mercer University School of Law. Fred is also a member of the Chuckatuck Ruritan Club. Additionally, Fred is a past President of the Suffolk Bar Association, as well as a member of the Franklin-Southampton County Bar Association, Isle of Wight County Bar Association, and the Virginia Beach Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Western District of Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Fred also serves Virginia’s 5th Judicial Circuit as a Special Justice, a Commissioner in Chancery, and is the current Escheator, as appointed by the Governor of Virginia.
