Paul d’Oliveira

Founding Attorney Paul d’Oliveira has over 30 years of experience in personal injury law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He founded the firm, expanding it to 19 offices. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Creighton University and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University. His pre-med and psychology backgrounds provide a strong foundation for understanding injuries and counseling clients. Mentored by Robert T. Karns, he focuses on marketing and website development to ensure clients can easily find answers and receive top-notch service and settlements. His primary challenge involves managing a large team across numerous locations.

Rebecca L. Thomas

Attorney Thomas has been a civil litigation attorney for over 20 years. Beginning her career as a judicial law clerk in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, she honed her skills in legal research and writing, and worked closely with the judges in overseeing jury selection, ruling on motions, and drafting judicial opinions. After finishing her clerkship, Attorney Thomas shifted to litigation as an insurance defense attorney for eight years giving her invaluable experience in wrongful death, premises liability, products liability, dog bite liability, professional liability, and motor vehicle liability cases. She also built an expertise in valuing cases for settlement and/or verdict potential. By working closely with the insurance adjusters, Attorney Thomas gained insight into how insurance companies value claims, set reserves, and enter settlement negotiations. During this time, Attorney Thomas also worked directly with corporate clients, specifically mental health/mental retardation facilities and day care centers, to investigate serious incidents and accidents. She also devised or revised corporate internal policies and procedures to implement proper employee training and reporting of serious incidents to minimize liability exposure. Attorney Thomas later decided to represent individuals in personal injury, employment, and medical malpractice cases. During this time, she became an expert negotiator and litigator, eventually focusing her practice on representing injured individuals in medical malpractice. Given her background handling cases for both sides of complex legal issues, Attorney Thomas has a unique perspective understanding the inner-workings of the court system and insurance companies. Kathryn J. Wickenheiser

Attorney Wickenheiser is a seasoned trial attorney representing catastrophically injured victims and their families in cases involving medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, wrongful death, pharmaceutical liability, and product liability for over 15 years. Attorney Wickenheiser spent her early years representing claimants applying for Social Security Disability and Workers’ Compensation, as well as those injured from a product failure, motor vehicle accident, dog bite, and slip and fall. Attorney Wickenheiser was also a managing attorney and junior partner at her first law firm where she oversaw two associate attorneys and seven supporting staff/paralegals. While at that firm, Attorney Wickenheiser was responsible for the day-to-day business needs, firm management, administrative issues, client and court scheduling, and was also involved in the overall firm business and financial decisions. It was not too long before Attorney Wickenheiser realized she wanted to focus her time on litigating cases more frequently and decided to concentrate her practice on representing catastrophically injured victims and their families in cases involving personal injury and wrongful death arising out of medical malpractice and nursing home negligence. Thomas J. Cleary

Before co-founding Cohen Cleary, P.C., Attorney Cleary developed a robust legal practice serving individual and corporate clients throughout Massachusetts. Attorney Cleary also served as counsel to a health care management company where he represented skilled nursing facilities, hospitals and individual clients. Attorney Cleary concentrates on the management of the firm as well as on civil matters with a strong emphasis in employment law, discrimination law, sexual harassment, probate and estate litigation, personal injury, health care law as well as other legal matters. Attorney Cleary is also certified as a Guardian ad Litem and a former certified member of the Mental Health Litigation Unit for the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services. Attorney Cleary has frequently served as court appointed guardian, conservator, treatment plan monitor, master, and estate personal representative. Attorney Cleary also takes great pride in working with the Department of Developmental Services in serving as guardian for developmentally disabled individuals.

Thomas F. Natoli

Thomas F. She works with clients across numerous offices in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She earned her law degree from the University of Massachusetts School of Law in 1997 and a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1989. Her daily responsibilities include client communication, medical record review, negotiation with insurance adjusters, and preparing for legal proceedings. She enjoys helping clients cope with trauma, connecting them with medical providers, and effectively negotiating settlements. Her biggest challenge is addressing property damage in the early stages of a case.
