Bobby Phillips

Attorney Bobby Phillips is a Savannah native who was educated at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where he received his AB degree in 1968 and his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1970. After graduating from law school, Attorney Bobby Phillips entered the United States Army and served for almost four years in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC) office in Stuttgart, Germany. Attorney Bobby Phillips returned to Savannah in 1974 to begin the private practice of law specializing in criminal law. Over the years he has defended thousands of clients charged with criminal offenses. Attorney Bobby Phillips has appeared on Court TV both for an interview and as a commentator after one of his most notorious cases involving the insanity defense. He has won acquittals in murder, rape and robbery cases. In 1980 he joined another firm which eventually developed as Savannah’s most prominent and successful plaintiffs’ firm. During the period from 1980 through 1992 attorney Bobby Phillips successfully handled personal injury cases, medical malpractice cases, business litigation and cases involving serious injury and death, COLLECTING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR HIS CLIENTS. In 1993 attorney Bobby Phillips established his own firm and began to handle legal malpractice claims. He was the first Savannah attorney to specialize in legal malpractice litigation. Today attorney Bobby Phillips continues to handle legal malpractice litigation as well as serious personal injury cases. Attorney Phillips still continues to aggressively and most successfully represent clients charged with serious felonies. In addition to his busy and successful law practice, attorney Bobby Phillips has been active in his community. He is a 1979 graduate of Leadership Savannah and he was the Jaycees Man of the Year in 1980. Attorney Bobby Phillips served six years as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives during which time he served on numerous important and influential committees. Attorney Bobby Phillips also served as Chairman of the Chatham County Democratic Committee for 2 years and was a candidate for the State Court Judgeship in 2002. Jonathan B. Phillips

Attorney Jonathan Boone Phillips is a Savannah native and second-generation lawyer, joining the firm as a partner after four years in the office of the Chatham County District Attorney. Boone graduated from Benedictine Military School and then attended and graduated from the University of Alabama. He is a graduate of the Mississippi College of Law (JD) and was admitted to practice law in 2013. Boone interned with the Honorable James Bass, Judge Superior Court of Chatham County in 2012. He joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2013 as its very first intern. Upon graduating from Law School Boone was hired as an Assistant DA assigned to DUI Court. Attorney Boone Phillips quickly rose through the ADA ranks to become one of the County’s youngest ever felony prosecutors. After four successful years as a Prosecutor, Boone joined the firm to establish Phillips Carson & Phillips as partner and lead criminal trial attorney. Boone’s experience in DUI cases is unparalleled due to his training and vast experience. He was the lead DUI Prosecutor in State Court. In 2013 Boone received GBI training in Security and Integrity and excelled in training with The Prosecuting Attorney’s Council of Georgia from which he received special recognition. In 2014 he was recognized for his skills in prosecuting the drugged driver and for successful completion of the DUI Prosecution advanced course. In 2015 Boone was recognized for his successful completion of the “DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing”, an intense training conducted by lead investigators at the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department. While in the DA’s office Boone never lost a DUI jury trial. He now becomes Savannah’s best trained DUI Defense Lawyer and a recognized “Top Gun” at the Criminal Defense Bar. He, along with partner John Carson, was featured on the cover of South Magazine as Savannah’s “Young Guns” Attorneys (July 2019). Since entering private practice Boone has successfully handled numerous major felony cases, not only in Chatham County but also in Bullock, Effingham, Bryan and Liberty Counties, where he has developed a strong reputation for being an aggressive and tenacious defender. Boone has also handed numerous personal injury cases, including automobile and truck accident cases. He has successfully negotiated large settlements in fall cases, rear end collisions and premises liability cases. His skills as a prosecutor have transitioned well into the personal injury field of law. Attorney Boone Phillips is admitted to practice before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, the US District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and before all trial Courts in the State of Georgia. He has been recognized as a “Top 40 Under 40” attorney by the National Trail Lawyers Association in both criminal and civil law. Boone is married and has a one year old son.

John Carson

Attorney John Carson is a native Savannahian and founding partner of Phillips Carson & Phillips with a vigorous practice dedicated to resolving both civil and criminal matters for his clients. Along with prosecuting bodily injury and wrongful death lawsuits and defending against both misdemeanor and felony criminal charges in Georgia’s state and federal courts, Attorney Carson maintains a very active domestic relations practice with a focus on resolving difficult family law issues for his clients, including divorce, child custody, legitimation / father’s rights, child support, and everything in between. After graduating from the Savannah Country Day School in 2000 and the University of Georgia in 2004, Attorney Carson worked for an international dental supply and medical device company based in Savannah before deciding in 2007 to dedicate his life to protecting those who have been wronged by pursuing a law degree at the Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi. Attorney Carson finished his legal studies at the University of Georgia School of Law as a visiting student and earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2010. Prior to forming Phillips Carson & Phillips with Bobby Phillips and Boone Phillips, Attorney Carson was an associate attorney at Duffy & Feemster. Attorney Carson is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Georgia. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Savannah Bar Association, and the Savannah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Attorney Carson participates in several genealogical and historical societies in the community based on his Scottish heritage and is a member of the Skidaway Island United Methodist Church. Attorney Carson is married and has two children.

M. Klyne Weaver

The newest member of the team, Klyne graduated from University of Georgia School of Law in 2023 after several successful internships and clerkships. Her experiences working in the offices of public defenders and the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor General have instilled a passion for dedicated criminal defense.
