Peter A. Kraus
Partner Peter Kraus is licensed to practice in Hawai’i. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University and his law degree from the University of Texas. He began his career as a commercial litigator in Washington, D.C., and has since focused his practice on toxic torts, False Claims Act whistleblower cases, and pharmaceutical injury litigation. He has tried numerous asbestos, benzene exposure, and pharmaceutical cases to verdict in state and federal courts across the country, including many multimillion-dollar verdicts. He is an ardent supporter of consumer and victims’ rights, having testified before the Texas Legislature and frequently lobbied Congress on behalf of asbestos litigants. Peter also serves on several asbestos bankruptcy creditor and trustee advisory committees. He is involved in steering committees for both U.S. and Texas asbestos multidistrict litigation and has served on the ABA Commission on Asbestos litigation. In December 2014, he was appointed by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to serve on the board of the Federal Judicial Center Foundation. Michael K. Tateishi
Born and raised in Honolulu, Michael earned two bachelors degrees from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He then graduated from the Gonzaga University School of Law. Michael began his legal career at the Office of the Public Defender in Honolulu. He came to Maui to head the Public Defender’s Maui office in the early ‘80s. Thereafter, Michael never left. He built a successful private criminal defense practice prior to transitioning to civil law practice. For more than 40 years, Michael has dedicated his practice to helping the wrongfully injured. Michael has successfully litigated complex personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Michael obtained one of the largest personal injury recoveries on Maui when he recovered more than $15 million resulting from a medical malpractice and software defect. An experienced trial lawyer, Michael has appeared before courts on all islands and has argued before the Hawaii Supreme Court, the U.S. Federal District Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Michael is married with three children and two grandchildren. He enjoys swimming, cooking, and traveling.

Ilana Waxman
Ilana Waxman is the managing partner of Galiher DeRobertis & Waxman. Ilana focuses her practices on toxic exposure cases, particularly for clients with mesothelioma and other asbestos diseases. Peter Mougey
Peter Mougey is a shareholder and the Chair of Levin Papantonio’s Securities and Business Litigation department. He concentrates his practice in the areas of complex litigation, financial services, and securities litigation, and whistleblower or qui tam litigation. Mr. Mougey has been recognized as one of Florida’s top 100 trial lawyers and a Florida Super Lawyer and has dedicated his career to championing individuals’ rights against the world’s largest companies. His peers have rated him AV Preeminent, the highest possible rating. Mr. Mougey has represented over 1,500 state, municipal, and institutional entities, as well as tribal sovereign nations, in litigation and arbitration around the globe.
