Tara C. Couture is the founding attorney of Couture Law P.A. Ms. Couture graduated with honors from the University of California San Diego, then obtained her law degree from one of the most prestigious schools in California, the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1999. Ms. Couture is licensed to practice law in Florida and California. Ms. Couture served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles prior to starting her own law firm. In addition to successfully representing clients in courts throughout Florida and California, she has also successfully negotiated, settled and litigated various types of legal matters, including, but not limited to, serious personal injury claims, wrongful death cases, car accident claims, truck & big rig accident claims and bus accident claims.
Marianne H. Carter
Marianne graduated from the post-baccalaureate paralegal program at the University of San Diego School of Law in 1988. She joined Couture Law P.A. when it was founded in January of 2010, bringing with her over 22 years of experience in the legal field. Marianne has an extensive background in both personal injury and wrongful death, which she has focused her career on since moving to Brevard County in 1997. Marianne previously worked for several law firms in Brevard County which all specialized primarily in personal injury and wrongful death, including eight years with Childress & Charpentier, P.A., as the paralegal to Hubert C. Childress, Esq., until his retirement in 2007. Marianne then went to work for Donoghue & Holland as the paralegal to Gary L. Holland, Esq., through January 2010, when she left to pursue a promising career with Couture Law P.A., which she has found extremely rewarding. Marianne has extensive experience in case management and assisting attorneys with preparing cases for trial, and is well qualified to assist in the handling of personal injury claims, both prior to and in litigation.
Wendy Kilkinney
Wendy joined the Couture Law team in March of 2023. She brings with her over 30 years of legal experience as both a legal assistant and litigation paralegal working for small and large firms in New Jersey and in Indian River and Brevard Counties in Florida. She has worked for law firms specializing in personal injury, workers’ compensation, criminal law, evictions, and estate planning, as well as a first-party insurance defense law firm for 12 years. At Couture Law, Wendy focuses primarily on helping clients navigate through the litigation process and handling all aspects of litigation from the initial Complaint filing through trial.
Janice Driscoll
Janice has been a part of the Couture Law team since 2012. She brought with her a wealth of experience working as a legal assistant for both small and large law firms in Arkansas, south Florida, and Brevard County. Her extensive background includes assisting attorneys in the fields of civil defense, commercial law, criminal law, probate, and family law, but she has concentrated her career in Florida personal injury since 1999. Janice prides herself on her ability to work well with both medical providers and clients to ensure that their files are updated and organized, among many other responsibilities, with cases both in pre-suit and in litigation. She and her husband, Richard, and enjoy traveling, music, and entertaining family and friends.
Brent A. Couture
Brent A. Couture received his B.S. in Economics from the University of California San Diego, where he also lettered on the intercollegiate volleyball team. He began his education in the law at the University of West Los Angeles School Of Law, and then transferred to and graduated from Barry University School of Law in Orlando. He limits his law practice to plaintiff’s personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice cases.
Yashira Santos
Yashira Santos joined Couture Law in 2023, bringing over a decade of experience in the personal injury law field. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she relocated to Florida in 2013 to pursue a job opportunity, where she has since established herself as a dedicated and skilled professional. With extensive experience handling cases in both pre-suit and litigation, Yashira excels at maintaining strong communication with medical providers and clients, ensuring files are meticulously updated and organized. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence are at the core of her work.
Alexandria Hamaker
Alexandria grew up in Melbourne, Florida. She is a West Shore Jr./Sr. High School Alumni and graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2020, she began her career as a legal assistant at a Florida Personal Injury law firm and within a year took on the role as case manager. After a few years in the field, she briefly took on a role as a claims adjuster for a well-known Auto Insurance company. She quickly determined she preferred working on the Plaintiff’s side and found it rewarding helping injured parties involved in auto accidents, therefore, she was excited to accept the role as case manager at Couture Law. Alexandria uses her communication skills to keep clients and supervising attorneys updated throughout the claims process and prior adjuster experience to view claims from their perspective. Those skills, accompanied by her attention to detail and knowledge gained throughout the years, result in successful settlements and happy clients.
