Paul Croley is the managing partner of the Law Offices of Croley & Foley. He grew up in Williamsburg and currently lives in Lexington. With offices located in Corbin, Lexington, London and Williamsburg. Paul has represented people across the state of Kentucky in complex civil and criminal defense cases. Paul is licensed to practice in the states of Kentucky and Florida. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Association of Justice. Paul is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership in that organization is limited to attorneys who have received in excess of a million dollars by trial or settlement in a single case. Paul currently concentrates in personal injury, state and federal criminal defense and business litigation.

B.J. Foley

B.J. Foley grew up in Corbin, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, obtaining his degree in Business Administration. Thereafter, he obtained a Juris Doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids. He has been admitted to the Kentucky Bar since 2009. B.J. began his legal career working for Croley & Associates, P.S.C. He is now a partner with the Law Firm. B.J. is admitted to practice in the state of Kentucky and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. B.J. is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Whitley County Bar Association, Laurel County Bar Association, Kentucky Justice Association, American Bar Association, and The Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. B.J.’s primary areas of practice are federal and state criminal defense, personal injury, family law, and civil litigation.

For over 25 years, Attorney David Thomas has practiced in the area of personal injury law. During that time, he has represented both insurance companies and individuals who have been injured. He is a former insurance defense attorney with firsthand knowledge of the insurance carriers' defense tactics.

David Rutledge is a Personal Injury Attorney in Lafayette, LA. He started practicing law in 2010 and opened his firm in 2015. He graduated from Loyola New Orleans College of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate in both common and civil law. He has built a great referral base thanks to his hard work and outstanding personality.

Chase is from Berea, Kentucky. He attended Berea Community Schools and went on to the University of Louisville where he obtained his B.A. in Political Science and Latin American Latino Studies. Thereafter, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., where he was awarded the Barack H. Obama Presidential Legal Service Award in 2018. In 2018, he was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. Chase is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, The Fayette County Bar Association, The Madison County Bar Association, and the Laurel County Bar Association. Chase’s primary areas of practice include criminal defense, personal injury, family law, estate planning, probate administration, and civil litigation. Chase has a passion for justice and is committed to success in the courtroom.

Mary-Ann Smyth

Mary-Ann Smyth is originally from northwestern Indiana but has lived in Kentucky for the past thirty years. Mary-Ann graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in criminal justice. She went on to attend Valparaiso University School of Law before joining the United States Air Force, where she was an officer for seven years. During her military career, Mary-Ann served as an attorney in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps and was special assistant U.S. Attorney at Tyndall Air Force Base. She has spent considerable time abroad, most notably at Osan Air Base in South Korea. Following her decorated military career, Mary-Ann developed a successful private practice in Corbin, Kentucky, which quickly became a staple in the local community. Mary-Ann has spent her career practicing in a number of different areas such as family law (divorce, custody, and adoption), estate planning (will preparation and probate administration), bankruptcy law (Chapters 7 and 13), and contract law. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Whitley County Bar Association.

Jane Butcher was born in Martin, Kentucky and attended Margaret Hall School in Versailles, Kentucky. She graduated from Collins High School in West Virginia and went on to attend George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Ms. Butcher graduated with B.A. degrees in political science and philosophy from Eastern Kentucky University. Ms. Butcher received a Master’s Degree from the University of Kentucky and went on to the prestigious Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana where she received her J.D. degree in 1981. As a student at Tulane University, Ms. Butcher clerked for Hon. J. Bennett Johnston, United States Senator in Washington, D.C. Ms. Butcher returned to Kentucky and began her legal career opening the Butcher Law Office, PLLC in 1983 where she concentrated her legal practice in the area of criminal defense, divorce and family law. She has handled thousands of criminal cases, including death penalty and homicide cases. She has also dedicated her career to representing many clients in their divorce, child custody, and adoption cases. Ms. Butcher was joined in her legal practice by her daughter, Erin Butcher Hjersted in 2002 until 2010 when she left the practice to care for her daughter, Lucinda Jane Hjersted. In 2020 Ms. Butcher joined the office of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for Whitley and McCreary Counties as Assistant Commonwealth Attorney where she prosecuted homicide and death penalty cases. Ms. Butcher is licensed to practice law in all Federal Courts and in all courts in Kentucky. Ms. Butcher has been dedicated to “client service” for more than forty years and is pleased to join with the Law Offices of Croley & Foley to continue that service.
