Mike Dyer
Before Attorney Mike Dyer formed Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, he practiced for many years as a personal injury attorney in Dayton, Ohio. Mike is extremely active in various community charities and formerly served as a board member for the Montgomery County Heart Association. Doug Mann
Prior to forming Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, Doug worked as a bodily injury claims adjuster for a large insurance company. This unique experience has been a tremendous asset to Doug in his fight to achieve maximum cash settlements for his clients in minimum time. Since departing from the insurance company, Doug has dedicated his entire legal career to helping injured clients when they need it the most. As a founding partner of Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, Doug Mann has been able to personally supervise the successful resolution of over 70,000 personal injury cases. Doug has also handled over 50 complex injury cases that have each settled for amounts in excess of $1,000,000. Under Doug’s watch, Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz evolved from a small local law office to a nationally renowned law firm of over 100 employees, 19 attorneys, and 14 offices. John Smalley
Attorney John A. Smalley joined Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz as a partner in 1995. Before that time, he was a partner at another Dayton, Ohio law firm where he focused his practice on insurance defense work. Over the past twenty-five years, John has had a tremendous amount of jury trial experience. He has tried over 400 jury trials in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Texas and South Dakota. He has tried cases involving personal injuries, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, construction accidents, property damage-fire loss, insurance bad faith, multiple types of business litigation, and federal trademark infringement. John obtained many million and multi-million dollar verdicts including million-dollar verdicts in an insurance bad faith case reported in the National Law Journal, an elevator drop, a personal injury case, multiple catastrophic injury cases arising from motor vehicle accidents, and multiple class actions. John has been recognized many times in the recent past. He was nominated by Public Justice in 2007 as National Lawyer of the Year for a $53,000,000 verdict against the State of Ohio in a class action suit on behalf of Ohio Workers. He is honored to be an A-rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been listed as an Ohio Super Lawyer and Top Ohio Attorney from 2007 through 2011. Attorney Smalley has served on the Ohio Association of Justice Board of Trustees, has been recognized as one of the top 100 lawyers in Ohio by the National Trial Lawyers Association, serves frequently as a hired expert witness in the area of insurance bad faith, and has spoken to dozens of groups and organizations on topics of tort law, insurance bad faith, trial practice, and evidence.

Pierre Tismo
Trial Attorney Pierre Tismo is highly experienced in complex catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. He joined Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz in 2005 after trying cases for 7 years as a prosecutor in Chicago and after medical negligence and wrongful death litigation in Cincinnati and Kentucky for another 7 years. Since joining Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz from 2005 through December 2017, Pierre has resolved cases for the injured in excess of $75 million. $39 million involved semi-trucks or commercial vehicle crashes and $19 million involved wrongful death cases. He has resolved 14 cases of $1 million or more with 2 cases over $4 million and 27 cases between $500,000 and $1 million. His highest individual award is $8.5 million. As a prosecutor, he tried cases such as first-degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault, and other violent crimes to jury verdict. He used that training to defend individuals charged with first-degree murder, cocaine and marijuana trafficking, and other violent crimes. He now only uses that trial experience to be the voice for the injured. This litigation expertise has led to Pierre spearheading the Firm’s prosecution of Federal Multidistrict Litigation class action cases involving securities fraud and defective pharmaceuticals. He has been appointed Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General in the BP Securities Fraud Litigation pending in Federal Court in Houston, TX due to the 2010 explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Pierre has spoken to the Ohio Association for Justice, on “Focus Groups on a Shoe String Budget” (formerly the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers-OATL), the Kentucky Justice Association on jury selection (formerly the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys-KATA), the Kentucky Bar Association (KBA) during the new lawyers program and the Northern Kentucky Bar Association (NKBA) on trial tactics & advocacy. He chaired and moderated several annual personal injury seminars for the NKBA and served for several elected terms on the KATA Board of Governors. As an adjunct faculty member at The Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, Pierre taught trial advocacy classes and coached several trial teams. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and several U.S. District Courts and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. While as a law student at the University Of Dayton School Of Law, Pierre received the Banks-Baldwin Clinical Program Book Award for the outstanding clinical program student at the University of Dayton Law Clinic. Pierre was also awarded the 1990 American Jurisprudence Book Award for being an outstanding student in Civil Trial Practice.

David Marquis
David has devoted over 30 years to representing the injured. He has successfully represented over 6500 Ohioans injured as the result of motor vehicle crashes, premises liability, medical malpractice, and pharmacy malpractice. David has resolved more than 30 cases exceeding $1,000,000.00. Recently, David successfully represented a seriously injured client, culminating in an award in excess of $9,000,000.00. David is a Member of the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocate Forums. David is a 1985 graduate of the College of New Jersey and a 1990 graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law. Upon graduation he completed a 2-year clerkship with the Court of Appeals. He joined the firm in 1995. David is a member of the American Association of Justice, the Ohio Academy of Justice, and the Dayton Bar Association. He volunteers his time to the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyer Project and Kiva. He is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Jason Saldanha
Attorney Jason Saldanha joined Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz in 2003. Jason is licensed to practice law both in Ohio and Indiana. Throughout his career, he has fought for the rights of his clients. He has handled several types of personal injury cases and is dedicated to achieving the best results for his clients. In addition to his work at the firm, he volunteers his free time by handling pro bono cases for those in financial need through his work with the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project.

Seth Schanher
Prior to joining Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, Seth worked as a law clerk for the firm’s legal research and writing division. Seth received his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law with honors. While attending law school, Seth received CALI Excellence awards for his accomplishments in his Externship Seminar and Tort Litigation Capstone. Currently, Seth manages the firm’s Mass Tort Litigation Department. Seth is licensed in Ohio, Kentucky, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He practices in the areas of pharmaceutical litigation, product liability, securities fraud, insurance bad faith, and personal injury.
