Matthew A. Haltzman, the founder of Haltzman Law Firm, P.C., concentrates in criminal law, personal injury law, and civil rights. He spent early years working in government, including the Department of Justice and the United States Attorney’s Office. He served as a SLIP prosecuting attorney with the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Wyoming, obtaining a "Confidential" level national security clearance. He also served as a federal judicial law extern to the Honorable Judge Richard L. Bourgeois, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Since being admitted to the Colorado Bar, Matthew has successfully defended thousands of clients in complex criminal cases. Mark S. Haltzman
Mark S. Haltzman joined Haltzman Law Firm, P.C. in 2023 in his role as Of Counsel to the firm. His educational background and "real world" business and legal experience make him uniquely qualified to handle business-related matters. Mark's legal career started as an attorney with two of the largest Philadelphia law firms, representing businesses from formation to complex mergers and acquisitions. After obtaining a Masters in Business Administration, he spent several years as an investment banker. For the last 30 years, Mark has been a business and trial attorney, gaining a reputation for creatively crafting complex legal arguments. He gained national recognition for his successful representation of students in Robbins v. Lower Merion School District. His broad range of legal experience includes commercial litigation, real estate, general corporate/transactional work, bankruptcy and creditors' rights, mergers and acquisitions, and banking. He represents clients in federal and state courts in Colorado, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and other states.
V. Kohl Watson
V. Kohl Watson is an attorney at Haltzman Law Firm. He joined the United States Army at seventeen years old, deploying to Afghanistan as an infantryman. After retiring from the Army, he attended University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, obtaining bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. He then attended University of Wyoming College of Law and graduated with honors. After law school and passing the Wyoming and Colorado Bar Exam, he worked as a Juvenile Attorney with the Albany County Attorney's office in Wyoming and then as a Deputy District Attorney at the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office - Fort Collins. He handled hundreds of criminal cases and took several to trial. He is an active member of the Northern Colorado legal community, awarded a prestigious Alternative Defense Counsel (ADC) appointment in 2023, and currently serves as the elected President to the Larimer County Bar Association - Young Lawyers Division.
Lance P. Thibert
Lance P. Thibert is an attorney of counsel to Haltzman Law Firm. His career as a criminal defense trial attorney has involved representation of clients in nearly 4500 cases to date. He spent 6 years working as a Senior Deputy Public Defender in Larimer County, gaining extensive litigation and trial experience in various criminal cases including DUI, Theft, Domestic Violence, firearm-related charges, Drug Possession/Distribution, Arson, Burglary, Assault, and Homicide. He has taken innumerable cases to trial and achieved favorable outcomes. Lance has submitted briefs to the Court of Appeals that produced published opinions and written hundreds of legal motions. He has acted as a mentor and instructor to aspiring and newly minted lawyers, and as the subject matter expert in DUI Litigation for the Fort Collins Regional Public Defender Office. He also worked as one of the Public Defender representatives in the DUI Recovery Court in Larimer County and filled the same role for other treatment courts.
