Christopher J. King is a partner at Apex Legal, P.C. His areas of practice include divorce, child custody, criminal law, civil litigation and general practice. He is licensed to practice law in both State and Federal District Court in the State of Wyoming. Chris was born in Worland and spent a considerable amount of time working on his family's ranch in Ten Sleep, Wyoming while growing up. After graduating high school from Green River he enlisted as a Serbian-Croatian linguist with the U.S. Army. Upon leaving active duty he returned to Laramie to attend the University of Wyoming. Chris graduated with a BA in Psychology and a BA in International Conflict Studies along with a minor in the Honors Program and a minor in Criminal Justice. He received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Wyoming College of Law in May of 2009. He became a partner of the firm in April of 2013. Christopher J. King has obtained several decisions / settlements of more than a million dollars and has tried cases to juries and to the bench in multiple areas of law.

James A. Michel, Jr.

James A. Michel Jr. was raised on a local farm near Worland and has worked in the Big Horn Basin his entire life. He was involved in both 4-H and FFA prior to graduation from Worland High School. He continued his educational pursuits at NWCC in Powell and then onto the University of Wyoming where he received his Masters Degree in Agricultural Engineering. Jim returned to the family farm for several years prior to attending Law School at the University of Wyoming. He returned to the Big Horn Basin to practice law in Thermopolis, first with Messenger and Jurovich, PC, and then with Messenger and Overfield, PC, for several years. His practice has focused on business formation, business succession planning, estate planning and real estate transactions but has also included other issues that often arise in production agriculture. Jim hopes to help individuals preserve the aspects of the Wyoming lifestyle and activities that he and others have always enjoyed about living in the area.
