When Crashes Happen

The peak day for fatal crashes shifted from Saturday in September 2022 to Friday in September 2023, both recording 10 fatal crashes. Fatal crashes occurring in 65 mph zones increased from 8 in September 2022 to 9 in September 2023, and those in 70 mph zones rose from 3 to 4. Manner of Collision

The dominant manner of collision in both periods was 'The First Harmful Event was Not a Collision with a Motor Vehicle in Transport,' though its count decreased from 29 in September 2022 to 24 in September 2023.
