When Crashes Happen

Crash Severity Breakdown
Crash severity outcomes improved in 2022 compared to the prior year. The number of fatal crashes decreased from 27 to 15, lowering the fatal crash rate from 0.7% to 0.4% of all incidents. Road & Environmental Conditions
The distribution of crashes by lighting and weather conditions remained largely stable year-over-year, with a consistent 62-63% of incidents occurring in daylight. Vehicles & Demographics
The top vehicle makes involved in crashes were consistent year-over-year, led by Chevrolet and Ford in both periods. In 2022, Chevrolet's involvement decreased from 1,660 to 1,511 vehicles, while Honda (353) surpassed Toyota (344) for the fourth position. An analysis of persons involved shows a slight decrease in the proportion of younger individuals in the 16-25 age range and a corresponding increase in the share of those aged 65 and older, from 12.3% in 2021 to 12.9% in 2022.

This dataset contains official police-reported motor vehicle traffic crash records maintained by the reporting jurisdiction's law enforcement agency. Records are published to the open data portal by the municipality and are subject to the portal's terms of use.
