
About Brianna
Brianna J. Haugen is an Aberdeen native. After graduating from Central High School, she attended the University of South Dakota, where she double majored in Criminal Justice and Social Work, receiving Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. She went on to attend the University of South Dakota School of Law, and graduated in 2020. While in law school, Brianna was the Symposium Editor of the South Dakota Law Review, a graduate assistant, a member of USD’s Low Income Tax Clinic and Criminal Defense Clinic, an officer in a variety of school clubs and organizations, and the President of her class. After being admitted to practice in Minnesota in 2020, Brianna clerked for four judges in the First Judicial Circuit. Learning about litigation from behind the bench has given her unique insight which benefits her clients in turn. Following the clerkship, Brianna gained admission to practice in South Dakota in 2021, at which point she moved back to Aberdeen to practice as a Deputy State’s Attorney for Brown County. She joined Richardson Law Firm in December 2022 to move from criminal work to civil litigation. She joined Richardson Law Firm in December 2022 and became a partner in 2025.
