About Carl
Carl E. Woock is a litigator and trial lawyer, whose practice focuses on civil matters. For many years, Carl represented Maine hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other professionals in medical malpractice claims. In defending healthcare providers in high-stakes litigation, Carl has ample experience preparing for cases involving serious injuries and complex issues. Beyond medical malpractice, Carl has litigated real estate disputes, construction cases, and personal injury claims. While not every case may involve a catastrophic loss or complex legal issues, Carl approaches each case focused on how to help achieve the client’s goals, taking seriously his role as an efficient and zealous advocate. Carl attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, and graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law, cum laude, in 2015. While at law school, Carl co-authored a law review article with constitutional law professor Jason Mazzone. Their article was published in the North Carolina Law Review. Carl also excelled in the law school’s largest moot court competition, being selected as one of four students to argue before a panel of federal judges in an honorary round. Finally, Carl worked with the Illinois Office of the State Appellate Defender, gaining real-world experience representing indigent individuals convicted of crimes. Carl lives in Jefferson with his girlfriend, Jaina, in a home they share with their three dogs and pet rabbit. Carl is an avid soccer fan, frequent runner, enthusiastic hiker, reluctant gardener, and gradually-improving chef.
