A Tucson native, Daniel's family has deep roots in the community, with the Barraza-Aviation parkway named in part after them. He attended Salpointe Catholic High School and the University of Arizona, then returned to Tucson after law school to work at the DeConcini U.S. Courthouse and U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He also served the Tucson community by representing employees at the Tucson V.A. hospital.
