About Derek

Derek Moore worked for over eight years as an insurance adjuster before becoming an attorney. As an insurance adjuster and claims investigator, he handled a range of property, injury, and auto claims for major insurance companies such as Allstate, State Farm, Kemper, and Zurich. These claims included personal injury, wrongful death, multiple auto accidents, commercial establishment liability, product liability, as well as property damage assessment. His most recent insurance experience was at Safeco Insurance, where he handled auto property damage and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) subrogation claims. Derek graduated magna cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in 2006. He received an exceptional A+ in civil liability (the basis of most personal injury claims). Also, while in law school he interned in the Civil Liability Division at the Seattle City Attorney's Office. There he served as a defense attorney for personal injuries including document discovery, pre-trial motions, appellate briefs, and court appearances. Currently, he serves as an experienced attorney, and fights to ensure that injured individuals receive fair treatment and compensation from insurance companies, government entities, and self-insured corporations. He handles a wide variety of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions, construction site injuries, commercial establishment liability, and product liability cases. Also, Derek has a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in economics, whose knowledge he uses when making complex economic loss claims, such as determining the losses of a small business owner due to the damages received. He has won numerous arbitration judgments and presented cases before the Washington Court of Appeals. Derek lives in Auburn, Washington, with his wife and two children.
