Dimitar Atanassov focuses his practice on first-party insurance coverage, property damage claims, and commercial litigation. He has experience handling matters in state and federal courts, as well as in alternative dispute resolution, from inception through disposition. Prior to joining Lerner, Arnold & Winston LLP, Dimitar represented corporate clients, insurance carriers, and directors and officers in breach of contract, insurance coverage, and fiduciary duty matters. He has experience both prosecuting and defending high-value commercial litigation, as well as commercial construction defect and catastrophic personal injury cases. Known for his strategic approach to case management, strong courtroom advocacy, and commitment to securing favorable outcomes for his clients, Dimitar delivers effective representation at every stage of a matter, from pre-suit counseling and risk mitigation to trial preparation and settlement negotiation. Clients appreciate his clear communication style, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate issues before they become obstacles. Dimitar earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he gained a strong foundation in litigation and the New York court system. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. Outside of work, he is passionate about fitness, traveling, and exploring new cuisines.
