About Douglas
Most of Douglas’ work involves helping people who have been catastrophically injured or killed in a tractor trailer collision. Because of his experience advocating on behalf of truck crash victims, Douglas is frequently sought out as lead co-counsel by other lawyers on these cases. Douglas’ results have garnered serious attention, including recognition by local publications, as well as national trial lawyer and trucking industry periodicals. His results on behalf of his clients have consistently been placed in SC Lawyers Weekly’s annual list of Top Verdicts and Settlements since 2013. While truck crash cases are his passion, Douglas has helped clients achieve multi-million-dollar jury verdicts and settlements in State and Federal Court on a variety of other cases involving insurance bad faith, motor vehicle collisions, dram shop cases, medical malpractice, defective products, commercial/business disputes, and premises liability. Douglas grew up in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina in the city of Bennettsville. After graduating from Clemson University and receiving a B.A. in Political Science, Douglas attended law school at the Charleston School of Law. He joined Yarborough Applegate not long after its inception and is an equity partner in the firm.
