About Gianni

Gianni is a shareholder and attorney at Geoff McDonald and Associates and a member of the firm's personal injury practice, and is currently licensed to practice in Colorado and Virginia. Gianni received a B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Tech in 2017 and then moved to Colorado to attend the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he graduated in 2020. Growing up, Gianni never stayed in one place for long. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but has since lived in five other states (including Virginia) and a total of eight cities and towns, and eventually attended four different elementary schools, one middle school, and two high schools. However, Gianni spent most of his adolescence in Midlothian and considers the Richmond community his home. By moving so frequently, he gained resilience and learned to empathize with others, and his parents made sure he understood the importance of responsibility, compassion, respect, and above all, treating all people fairly and equally. Gianni sees his role as an advocate for personal injury victims as an opportunity to uphold these values. During his second year of law school, Gianni was a law student at the nationally recognized University of Denver Environmental Law Clinic, where he represented unrepresented demographic communities to challenge oil and gas developments in their nearby neighborhoods. Gianni gained unique litigation experience and argued complex issues of first impression under Colorado state law, culminating his clinical experience with an oral argument in the Colorado Court of Appeals, becoming one of the few law students to argue in court. In his final year of law school, Gianni helped lead the University of Denver to the semifinals in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. After graduating, Gianni worked as an attorney at a top-tier personal injury law firm in Denver, Colorado, where he honed his litigation skills in federal and state courts. Gianni lives in Richmond with his yellow Labrador retriever, Nilla. When not at work, he enjoys playing guitar, trail running, playing sports, cooking, attending live shows, and watching Formula 1.
