
About Jacob
Jacob E. Gancarczyk joined Spesia & Taylor in 2012. He received a B.A. from the University of Iowa and a Master’s Degree in business law from Loyola University School of Law. He earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating Magna Cum Laude. His practice focuses on appellate work and litigation in eminent domain, industrial land use, construction law, contested probate, municipal law, personal injury, and medical malpractice. He has been recognized as an Emerging Lawyer in Illinois from 2017-2024 and a Leading Lawyer in 2025 by The Law Bulletin Publishing Company. He has successfully handled significant cases, including overturning a jury verdict in a wrongful death case and obtaining a record-breaking award of over $4.1 million, and securing the highest recorded slip and fall jury verdict in Grundy County at that time. He is a member of the Appellate Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and Will County Bar Association.
