About Jacqueline

Jackie grew up in northwest Iowa and was inspired to practice law by her father, Roger A. Berkland, an attorney in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Following in his footsteps, she attended the University of Iowa College of Law-graduating with honors. Finding herself impressed with both Laird Law Firm and the Mason City community, she decided to plant roots on the north central side of the state. Over the years, she has served the community in a variety of capacities, including as a member of the Grievance Commission of the Supreme Court of Iowa, District 2A Judicial Nominating Commission, Board of Directors of Good Shepherd Health Center and as an officer for the Mason City Kennel Club. She is also a member of the Cerro Gordo County, Iowa State and District 2A Bar Associations. In her free time, Jackie enjoys traveling with her family, trying unique restaurants and soaking up the sun whenever possible. She loves being active in the outdoors year-round, especially running, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, riding horses, scuba diving and fishing. Jackie also thoroughly enjoys attending concerts, movies and theater productions. Jackie practices primarily in the areas of family law and probate administration.
