About Jay
Jay L. Phillips focuses his practice in corporate law, intellectual property, estate planning, and general transactional law. His legal expertise is enhanced by a robust life sciences and public policy background. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and Medical Biotechnology from the University of Kentucky. He interned in the Kentucky Legislature and was a Graduate Fellow at the Council of State Governments. During law school, he was a Graduate Fellow in the University of Kentucky’s Office of Technology Commercialization and worked with a government contractor conducting Medicaid audits. He is an Eagle Scout and served as a mentor through the First Tee program. He was president of the Appalachian Law Caucus, the Election Law Society, and named the 2022 J.W. Patterson Senator of the Year by the Student Government Association. He serves as Vice President of Rotaract of Lexington.
