About Jim
James Beasley Sr. was the trailblazing founder of The Beasley Firm and a legendary Philadelphia trial attorney, nationally recognized for winning more million-dollar jury verdicts than any other trial lawyer in the country. Temple University Law School now bears his name in tribute to his legal work and a $20 million donation in 1999. He passed away in 2004 at age 78. Known as 'the people's lawyer' and 'Philadelphia's version of the king of torts,' he had a reputation for taking on giants and perfecting tort litigation. Notable cases include a $29 million verdict against Cessna in 1984, an $8 million verdict against the Philadelphia Housing Authority in 1984, and libel verdicts of $34 million and $6 million against the Philadelphia Inquirer in 1990. He also secured a $907 million jury settlement in 1999 against Ira Einhorn and a historic $104 million judgment in 2003 with his son, Jim Jr., in the first 9/11 case tried to verdict.
