Jonathan O’Hara is an attorney at Danford Law Firm. He dedicates his practice exclusively to criminal defense with a focus on DWI & Drug Charges. He also represents clients in federal court in San Antonio, TX. He is the only attorney in the area to earn the prestigious ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist designation, the highest form of scientific recognition for lawyers. As a lawyer-scientist, he has highly specialized knowledge of blood alcohol testing and drug testing, and the skills to effectively challenge that evidence in court. He has also completed advanced training in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. He has represented numerous professionals, including doctors, nurses, teachers, and others, and secured favorable outcomes that protected their licenses and careers. He has represented many immigrant clients as well and secured outcomes that protected their legal status in the United States. He is frequently asked to share his knowledge and experience. He has written articles on defending DWI & Drug Charges and presented at training seminars for criminal defense attorneys and even police officers. He is an active member of several legal organizations, including the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, where he serves on the DWI Resource Committee. He is also a member of the Legal Committee of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. Earlier in his career, he gained extensive criminal defense experience while working at law firms and one of the country’s largest public interest organizations. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, where he received the Dean’s Scholarship and Blask Fellowship Award. During law school, he served as a teaching assistant and summer law clerk to a federal judge. He graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University - San Antonio. Jonathan is also bilingual and regularly represents Spanish-speaking clients.
