About Joseph
Joseph P. Donahue, JR. was a prominent Lowell attorney, a founding member of Eno Martin Donahue & Roth LLP, and a beloved community benefactor. He proudly served his country during World War II as an Ensign with the U.S. Navy. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Dartmouth College in 1946, his MBA from the Tuck School of Business in 1948, and his Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School in 1952. He studied oil and gas law at Southern Methodist University Law School and passed the Texas Bar in 1953. He served as counsel for Three States Natural Gas Inc. before returning to Lowell in 1964 to join his father and brother in the family law firm, Donahue and Donahue. He was an active member of the Greater Lowell community, serving as chairman of the committee that oversaw the merger of Lowell Technological Institute and Lowell State Teacher’s College into UMass Lowell, for which he received the University’s Presidential Medal in 1976. He was also a longtime fundraiser for the Immaculate Conception Church, a founding Director of the Oblate Men’s Mission Guild, and a past President of the Lowell Chamber of Commerce.
