About Kent
Kent F. Slater joined Spesia & Taylor in 2007 after serving 16 years as a judge on the Illinois Appellate Court in Ottawa. He previously served two terms in the Illinois General Assembly (1985-1988) and as a Circuit Court Judge (1988-1990). Prior to his election as judge, he was a partner in Lucie, Heiser & Slater. He is available to represent clients in litigation and appeals to the appellate courts and the Illinois Supreme Court. He received his L.L.M. from University of Virginia School of Law in 2001, J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1975, and B.S. from University of Illinois in 1968. He was awarded the Bronze Star in Vietnam.
