About Kevin

Kevin Kiernan is a founding partner of Silva, Kiernan & Associates, PLLC, focusing on Criminal Defense and DWI matters. He was a successful prosecutor in North Carolina’s Fifth Prosecutorial District. He completed his undergraduate education at North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He then attended Indiana University School of Law, focusing on legal aspects of technology, science, criminal law, and trial advocacy. After law school, he joined the District Attorney's Office, prosecuting drug crimes, assault offenses, and property crimes, and handling DWI trials. He was promoted to Superior Court division. Since 2013, he has defended clients in various cases. He has served as the State Bar Councilor for the Fifth District since 2019, is a member of the attorney network for the United States Concealed Carry Association (U.S.C.C.A.), and the National College for DUI Defense. He has completed NHTSA recognized DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) and Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) courses, and is an SFST Instructor. He has lectured at Campbell University’s Norman A. Wiggins School of Law and served as President of the Sampson County Bar.
