Matthew F. Callaghan Jr. (1942-2023) passed away on August 26, 2023. He provided excellent representation for individuals, families, and businesses across Rhode Island for fifty-six years. His expertise included real estate matters (zoning, planning, land use, and closings), wills, trusts, estates, family law, criminal matters, and civil litigation. He was a public servant, serving as State Senator from 1968 to 1974. He opened a law office in North Kingstown in 1974. He served as Narragansett Town Solicitor from 1978 to 1987 and as Chairman of the Narragansett Land Trust from 1991 to 2011. He was appointed to the Rhode Island Disciplinary Board in 2013 and served as the Town Solicitor for the Town of North Kingstown from 2017 to 2023.
