About Matthew

Matt has extensive litigation experience, particularly in the areas of criminal, municipal, and constitutional law. Prior to joining SMBP, Matt was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Hamilton County in the criminal division where he prosecuted criminal cases in the Felony Trial Division, Municipal Division, and Juvenile Division. As a result, Matt has developed a wide range of knowledge and insight with respect to trial practice, negotiations, law enforcement policy and procedures, and intergovernmental affairs. Today, his practice areas focus on representing and defending government and business entities in wide variety of matters such as civil rights, municipal law, premises liability, employment law, and contract disputes. Matt’s practice areas also include criminal defense. Matt was born and raised in Cincinnati, is a graduate of St. Xavier High School, Clemson University, and the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was also a member of Law Review. Matt is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Cincinnati Bar Association.
