About Matthew
Matthew Schwenk is an associate attorney for Hoglund Law who works in two practice areas: Bankruptcy and Criminal Defense. He is admitted to practice in both the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and the District Court for the State of Minnesota. Matthew is originally from South Dakota, where he grew up and graduated with a B.A. in History from Augustana University in 2020. After finishing his undergrad, Matthew moved to the Twin Cities where a stint in banking exposed him to bankruptcy law and showed him the pitfalls individuals without a legal background often fall into when trying to navigate any legal process. This also ignited a new passion in Matthew to help others facing complex legal issues, and to provide them with the tools to make informed decisions about their situations. To pursue this new passion, he attended the University of St. Thomas School of Law where he later graduated with his JD in 2024. By practicing in both areas of Bankruptcy and Criminal Defense, Matthew gets to help individuals going through some of the most stressful issues they will ever face in their lives. Matthew’s favorite part of the job is speaking with clients and answering whatever questions they have. This way a client can be sure the decision they make is the right one for them. Whether he is helping a client get a hold of their finances or helping them put their criminal issues to rest, Matthew is working diligently to set our clients up for success during and after their time with Hoglund Law.
